Rewritten Version
I still remember the first major seizure I ever had in front of my brother. It was 1970, not long after my AVM surgery. He was driving me across town, just trying to help me get out of the house for a little while.
I noticed my left arm suddenly jerking toward him, and he thought I was joking around. I could feel my face starting to draw, and that’s the last thing I remember clearly. The next moment, I was coming to with my brother and a State Patrol officer holding me up, my arms around their necks as they tried to help me walk.
I was having trouble swallowing, and I had saliva all over the patrolman’s shirt and tie. I was confused, disoriented, and trying to understand what had happened. I know it terrified my brother. It was a moment neither of us ever forgot
