On Survivor, having the right alliance can make all the difference. In real life, some of the strongest alliances are built within families.

Today, our series with Survivor winner and Kentucky State Representative Nick Wilson continues with a conversation about grandparents raising grandchildren and the incredible role grandparents and other kinship caregivers can play in providing children with stability, connection and a sense of belonging.

Stepping into a parenting role again can also bring new challenges, and caregivers deserve an alliance of their own.

🤝 Kentucky Family Caregiver Program — Connects grandparents raising grandchildren with resources, support groups, counseling, training and other assistance.

Because sometimes the most important alliance a child can have is a grandparent, relative or loved one willing to step up when they need them most.

On Survivor, finding enough food is part of the game. For too many families across Kentucky and Appalachia, it’s a challenge they face in real life.

Today, our series with Survivor winner and Kentucky State Representative Nick Wilson (District 82- Whitley and part of Laurel county) continues with a conversation about food insecurity and the importance of making sure families have access to the resources they need to thrive.

If you or someone you know could use a little extra support putting food on the table, help is available! We've listed a few resources below, but encourage you to share your most helpful resource in the comments.

Prevent Child Abuse Kentucky joins communities across the Commonwealth in mourning the loss of Kentucky State Police Trooper Hayden Phillips, who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.

Trooper Phillips dedicated his life to serving and protecting others. Beyond the badge, he was a husband and a father of three. Our hearts are with his family, loved ones, fellow Kentucky State Police troopers, and all those grieving this tremendous loss. We are deeply grateful for his service to the Commonwealth and the legacy of service he leaves behind.

For those wishing to show their support, donations are being accepted through the Kentucky State Police Foundation to support Trooper Phillips’ family during this incredibly difficult time. We encourage our Partners and friends across Kentucky to join us in surrounding his family and the KSP community with support.
