Every child develops at their own pace, and some children may need additional support to fully participate in classroom activities. So how can educators use what they’re learning from classroom assessments to better meet each child’s needs?

This training will focus on using classroom assessment data to modify lesson plans and create meaningful learning opportunities for both typically developing children and children with disabilities.

• Training Level 2
• CDA: 12. Program Management
• Core Content: Program Management & Evaluation
• Counts toward annual Special Needs training requirements

Understanding the signs of Pediatric Abusive Head Trauma (PAHT) can help child care professionals recognize concerns, respond appropriately, and create safer environments for children.

This required course, developed by Dr. Melissa Currie, covers Pediatric Abusive Head Trauma in compliance with House Bill 285, KRS 199.986, and 922 KAR 2:090.
Participants will learn about:

• Normal vs. abnormal bruising and common patterned injuries
• Recognizing and understanding Pediatric Abusive Head Trauma
• Risk factors for physical abuse
• Reporting requirements and documentation
• Prevention tools and strategies
• Infant head and brain anatomy and potential outcomes
• Safe sleep practices and best practices for safe sleep environments

This training provides important, practical information for Early Care and Education professionals as they work to protect, support, and advocate for the children in their care.

📚 If you work in Early Care and Education, make sure you’re registered and ready to complete this required training.
