It's that time of the year again for the Annual Elmo F. Hill Post 291 American Legion, Lexington, Illinois Pancake & Sausage Breakfast. Event is on January 20, 2024, from 6am-Noon at Lexington High School. Adults-$5.00 Children $3.00 (under 12) Children under 5 eat free. Tickets can be purchased at Lexington City Hall or by asking a Legion Member.
Come out and enjoy a delicious breakfast and good company. Also ask about pre ordering bulk sausage.

The Elmo F. Hill Post 291 American Legion, Lexington, Illinois is finishing up its expansion of the Lexington City Hall Veterans Memorial / Recognition project. If you would like to memorialize or recognize a loved one by purchasing a brick, please pick up a form at City Hall.
The cost is $75.00. The requirement is the veteran must have received an Honorable Discharge from Active Service.
There is a limited number of bricks, so please get your order in as soon as possible. The deadline is December 15th and installation is planned before Memorial Day 2024.

We lost a 70yr member of the Elmo F. Hill Post 291 American Legion, Lexington, Illinois recently. Randy Hutson 95, passed away on October 9th. Among his many accomplishments in his life, Randy served proudly in the United States Army. He was drafted into the Army on January 11, 1951. He went through 6 weeks of basic training at Fort Leonard Wood Mo. He was assigned to A Co. 66th Sig BN Corps. He attended schools at Fort Gordon, Ga. for 6 months, Fort Bragg, NC. for 3 months; Maneuvers school at Watertown, NY. for 2 1/2 months. He was then assigned to Fort Bragg, NC. Randy was Honorably Discharged from the Army on January 10, 1953.
On behalf of us all Thank You for not only your service to our country, but for all the lives you touched, you will be missed.

💜 Purple and White Alumni book 1879-2023 💜 Now available for just $15!

The Lexington Booster Club is selling the updated Purple and White Alumni book. The 52 page book contains class lists of Lexington students from 1879 through 2023. The names in these lists were copied from the Lexington High School 1897 Christmas Annual, the 1920 Green and White, the 1965 Purple and White, old yearbooks and class reunion lists. They’ve been updated in the more recent Purple and White books in 2010, 2014, and 2018. The book has a timeline of the development of schools in Lexington and pictures of school buildings through the years. It also includes several pictures of Lexington’s Main Street, from as far back as the1860s.

The book can be purchased for $15 in the concession stand during school sporting events, at Lexington City Hall, Lexington Public Library, Heartland Bank of Lexington, or by contacting [email protected]. An additional $4.00 postage will be charged for mailing. All profits from the book sales will go to the Lexington Booster Club.
