Last month, we were grateful for the opportunity to perform our work “Belonging” at Art at the Cathedral at Christ Church Cathedral during Gallery Hop ✨ It was a beautiful, connected night of community, celebration of art making & exploring the labyrinth.

Thank you, thank you to Nishaan Sandhu for inviting us to be part of such a special evening! What a privilege to share our art in a space of beauty & appreciation.

We’re thrilled to be working with Move Smart | Lexington Physical Therapy for our company’s Physical Therapy workshops, services & guidance this performance season!

Kicking off our relationship with a movement workshop, we discussed demand, capacity, & load which guided us to approach our patterns & tweaks through an investigative approach, rather than one of avoidance or dismissal. With the floor always open for questions, we’re so grateful for ✴️Andrea Moore ┃ Whole-Self Integration Method & Dr. Tameka Johnson PT, DPT supporting us as embodied artists pursuing our craft & working alongside us to protect sustainable careers. We can’t wait for what’s to come & partnering with such incredible, smart, supportive women!

As dancers, we recognize it’s easy to view PT as a means to an end, another way to get back into the studio after an injury. We’re hoping to shift the narrative for our company and view Physical Therapy as preventative care that leads us to years of performance & training, a way to prove to ourselves that we value our bodies & their capabilities.

This November 2026 in celebration of our 16th season, Movement Continuum will premiere our 20th original work.

With its cast of 15 dancers, “The Life Cycle of a Valkyrie” explores the lineage of storytelling, secret keeping & history holding that cocoons itself within matrilineal descent. Movement Continuum excavates a Kentucky grandmother’s memory, using her experience to build intergenerational bridges of understanding & spotlighting the resilience it takes spanning decades to cut paths for our daughters. All of it modeling the division, replication & wholeness of love.

Through the unexpected research amalgam of Norse mythology, biological process of mitosis & pursuit of ancestral discovery, MC follows memory & perception while leaving space for the weight sharing question: did my grandmother carry my stories, or do I now carry hers?

“The Life Cycle of a Valkyrie” was made for our grandmothers, honoring every path they walked, every loop they made around the house & every time they divided themselves to make all of us more whole through their love.

✨ Exhibit 2026 ✨ What an amazing weekend sharing dance, support, movement, & a whole lot of love together in the Black Box! We’re blown away by the talent that crossed the stage & the power in each piece.

The biggest thank you to every choreographer & dancer who participated & gave us the opportunity to witness your movement & performance 🫶 Our cups are full to the brim with gratitude for sharing space with you!

And a huge thank you to our Exhibit lighting designer Sophia for her lightning fast brain & gorgeous design work!

✨ Exhibit opens tomorrow! ✨

We have 15 brilliant choreographers presenting work at our second annual showcase for Kentucky movement makers, & we’re excited to share more about their work with you!

Meet us in the Black Box Theatre at the Pam Miller Downtown Arts Center this weekend to celebrate Kentucky artists! Grab your tickets at the link in our bio or purchase them at the door. We’ll see you Friday and Saturday at 7:00 pm!

We’re thrilled to announce our 2026 Exhibit choreographers! Hosting this event is such a privilege & we’re so looking forward to the weekend when these brilliant, bold movement makers will have their work witnessed 🥳

Exhibit is a choreographers’ showcase intended to provide regional movement makers 18+ from any background with the opportunity to submit, create & present independent work to a live audience.

There’s a new, original work in process, the mirrors are (sort of) clean, & we’re all together! What a good week.

Our next original work has been briefed with the company, rehearsals on our first full company piece have begun & we’re chasing inspiration, movement & what it feels like to step into our own power as women & artists.

Mark your calendars! We’ll open our 20th original, full-length production in the Black Box Saturday, November 14th ✨

broken golden wonder, we love you 4-ever. Thank you for finding us exactly when we needed you & showing us the way to be the gold that mends one another.

Thank you to every audience member who joined us in the Black Box for the revival of bgw. We’re endlessly grateful for your support & kind words, joining us on the theatre floor to exchange hugs and celebration, and your presence. Always, always so grateful for your presence and holding dance as a priority in your busy lives.

Thank you to Tom Willis (Tom Willis) & his brilliant mind that sculpts entire worlds. Thank you to Vivien Kurtz (Vivien Kurtz ) for witnessing us, holding us up, and never being late for a cue. Thank you to Landon Antonetti (Landon Antonetti) for memorializing us through photos like oil paintings and documenting the ephemeral spirit of dance.

Thank you to the PMDAC for being our home theatre.

We are so grateful for a life that propels us to make art, for feet that can’t stay still and for that one singular moment onstage when you look up into the light and everything quiets.
