SongFarmers of Lexington, KY Upcoming Events:

Wednesday, Nov 19th, 6:30 – 8:30 pm, Holiday Music Jam Rehearsal, American Legion Post 8, 1320 Man O’War Drive, Lexington, KY 40504. Post 8 is off Waller Dr just west of Nicholasville Rd and the UK Campus. We will be rehearsing in the lower level, to the right once inside the door. If you are not a member of the Post, please sign in on the podium register. If you play an acoustic instrument, we encourage you to join our group. Please bring a music stand, a binder and/or tablet to look up songs. We provide printed lyrics and music.

Monday, Dec 17th, 5:30 -6:30 pm, Our Annual SongFarmers of Lexington Annual Holiday Jam at Tates Creek Branch Library, 3628 Walden Drive, Lexington, KY 40517. Come join us for this fun filled jam – lots of Santa Claus, reindeer, snow, and holiday music! Bring your musical instrument, voice, and/or listen. This is one of our favorite jams. Special guests include The Hot Cookies Ukulele Group with their fun music and harmonies!

Monday, Jan 12th, 5:00-6:30 pm, SongFarmers of Lexington January ARTBeat Jam, Marksbury Family Branch Library, 2197 Versailles Road, Lexington KY. We have been invited back to play for ARTBeat Week. The Lexington ART Beat Celebration, a week-long event dedicated to highlighting the importance of arts in our community. Please join us as we sing and play familiar Kentucky, Lexington, and Americana songs. Bring your instrument and a music stand if you would like to join our group. We will provide lyrics and chords. Special guests include The Hot Cookies Ukulele Group with their fun music and harmonies!

SongFarmers of Lexington and the Hot Cookies of the Bluegrass Ukulele Group played a selection of summer songs for the Smiley Pete's 250Lex Porch Fest on Sunday, June 8th at a delightful front porch with a pergola in the Beaumont area of Lexington. Many neighbors and families listened and sang along with the songs.

Reminder: we will be participating in 250Lex Smiley Pete's Front Porch Community Music Jam this Sunday, June 8th, at 1163 Athenia Drive, from 12 Noon to 2 PM. Bring your guitar, mandolin, banjo, ukulele, fiddle, or other acoustic instrument, a chair, and a music stand. SongFarmers of Lexington, KY Acoustic Community Jam will be Wednesday, May 28th, 5 - 6:30 pm at the Lexington Public Library's Northside Branch, 1733 Russell Cave Road, Lexington KY 40505.
This is our annual "Bob Dylan Birthday Jam". Bring your favorite Dylan tunes, artists that covered Dylan, and related songs influenced by Dylan.

This Tuesday, April 15th, 2025 from 5 to 6:30 pm - Join the SongFarmers of Lexington for a community jam at the Lexington Public Library Tates Creek Branch.
Bring your instrument, your voice, a song, or all three! Listeners and all skill levels are welcome.
Help celebrate "250Lex".. the 250th anniversary of Lexington through its history, art, food, literature, music, poetry, heritage and legacy. April has been designated as the 250Lex Month of Music.
We will be playing and singing songs written and/or sung by Kentucky musicians... including My Old Kentucky Home, Blue Moon of Kentucky, The L & N Don't Stop Here Anymore, Paradise, Bye Bye Love, Shady Grove, Sixteen Tons, Hot Corn Cold Corn, Bluegrass State of Mind, Run for the Roses, Nine Pound Hammer, Man of Constant Sorrow, Walk Softly, Eight More Miles to Louisville, and Hard Times Come Again No More.
Our very own, SongFarmers member, Brian Glover has written and recorded (?) two new songs about Lexington - at our April 15th event! Brian is a multi-time award-nominated country, alternative rock, and comedy singer-songwriter from Lexington. He has written and recorded a number of songs about KY - including our favorites - "Bluegrass State of Mind", "Storm in Kentucky" and "Standing at the Crossroads".

Upcoming SongFarmers of Lexington KY gatherings and events - bring your (mostly acoustic) musical instruments and voice and join us for a fun evening of Americana music - bluegrass, blues, country, folk, gospel, jazz, rock 'n roll, plus!
Here is the list of our upcoming events:
* Wed, Feb 26th, 6:30 to 8:30 pm, please bring a music stand and copies of a favorite song or two, and a folder or binder with your music. We will pass out additional songs for everyone to learn to play and sing. Our gatherings or jams are for musicians of all levels.
* Wed, Mar 26th, 6:30 to 8:30 pm, American Legion Post 8. We will be rehearsing for the April (15th?) community jam at the Tates Creek Branch of the Lexington Public Library.
* Tues, April 15th, 5 to 7 pm (tentative date and time) Community Jam at Tates Creek Library, part of the 250Lex Programming of a year's worth of events celebrating Lexington's 250th birthday! We will be playing and singing a variety of Lexington and Kentucky related songs.... Blue Moon of Kentucky, Kentucky Waltz, L and N Doesn't Stop Here Anymore, My Old Kentucky Home, Paradise, Run for the Roses, plus songs written by Lexington musicians, including our own SongFarmers of Lexington member Brian Glover - who has recently released an album with original Kentucky-themed songs! We may also explore early music in Lexington over its 250 years!

American Legion Post 8, is located at 1230 Man O War, off Waller, between Nicholasville Rd/Limestone and Harrodsburg Rd./So. Broadway, and west of the UK campus. Please sign in if you are not a member of Post 8. Beverages are available for purchase. As the 4th Wednesday is the day before Thanksgiving.....
We will be getting together to play tonight, Wednesday, Nov 20th, in the lower level of American Legion Post 8, 1230 Man O War Place, Lexington, KY....
Join us for a fun evening of Americana music... we welcome singers and acoustic/folk instruments, including autoharp, banjo, bodhran, box drum, dulcimer fiddle, guitar, mandolin, ukulele, viola, upright (or electric) bass, and related instruments.
Our Nov 20th theme is Harvest Home and Thanks.....
We will be singing a variety of favorite songs, bring your music and a stand, with copies of lyrics and chords to share.
Our holiday SongFarmers of Lexington musical gathering will be Wednesday, Dec 18th, same time same place.... we will be singing and playing Winter Holiday favorites.
