What a day for Woods Creek! Thank you to everyone who ran, walked, volunteered, sponsored, cheered, and planned this year’s Run 4 Woods Creek.

Events like this help bring our community together around the protection and restoration of one of Lexington's most important waterways.

What a great 2026 Annual Community Clean-up! This year, nearly 300 volunteers and 51 teams collected over 11 tons of trash from roads, rivers, and public spaces across Rockbridge.

From longtime river stewards like the Coastal Canoeists to this year’s Litter Cup winners, the Litter Eliminators, thank you to every volunteer, partner, and neighbor who helped make Rockbridge a little cleaner, healthier, and more beautiful.

The final public input session for the Lexington Comprehensive Plan update will be Thursday, May 14th, at 4:30 pm. It will be held at 150 S. Main Street in the first-floor meeting room of the Rockbridge County Administrative offices. This will be an open house-style meeting, allowing community members an opportunity for public comment on the final draft of the Lexington Comprehensive Plan 2045.

TODAY is the final day to submit written comments to the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) regarding a proposed water protection permit related to the Lexington Golf & Country Club project and its impact on the Woods Creek watershed. Please note: DEQ may restrict future participation in the permitting process to individuals who submit comments during the public comment period.
