Please join us for our 2024 Darwin Lecture Series! We are very excited to have Dr. Claudia Johnson and her lecture on “Exploring the Evolution of Coral Reefs: Past, Present, and Future”.

This event will be held Wednesday March 6th, 7PM (EST) located in 102 Mines and Mineral Resources Building. (Please see the attached flyer for parking information).

This event is FREE to the public and will be sure to be a great evening for all.

Join us for our DEI forum tomorrow at 5:30pm EST for Dr. Liane Stevens' talk "Demystifying the hidden curriculum to foster inclusion." Register at https://tinyurl.com/kedbvjwk

Dr. Liane Stevens is a metamorphic geologist interested in unraveling the history of Earth's deep crust. Her current research focuses on metamorphic and igneous rocks in the Llano uplift in Texas Hill Country. Dr. Stevens was born and raised in Cape Cod, MA. She holds degrees in geology and geosciences from Wellesley College (B.A.), University of Massachusetts Amherst (M.S.), and the University of Montana (Ph.D.). She currently teaches at Stephen F. Austin State University (Texas) where her undergraduate and graduate course topics include mineralogy, petrology, structural geology, plate tectonics, geoanalytical methods, and geochronology.
