We can’t wait to see you in January for the 2027 OAK Conference! Registration and scholarship applications are now open for the 16th Annual OAK Conference in Cave City January 29-30. Register by December 14 for an early bird discount, and join or renew your OAK Membership for additional savings on conference registration.

Kentucky farmers and students are encouraged to apply for a conference scholarship, which provides 1- or 2-day registration for just $25! Scholarships are awarded on a rolling basis, and recepients will receive a discount code to register.

Join us for an OAK Farmer Field Day TOMORROW, October 13, at Seedleaf's Headwater Farm in Lexington, KY!

Tuesday morning, from 9am-12pm ET, tour the farm's fruit and nut orchard, pollinator habitat, native perennials, wetland and riparian plantings and honeybee hives. Learn how this nonprofit farm on 30 acres of leased land nurtures the community through food, education, and ecological farming.

This guiding principle is what Robin and her family have used to create Hill and Hollow Farm in Metcalfe County, KY, over three decades of values-driven priority-setting and hard work. The result is a successful, diversified family farm centered on community, organic practices and shared learning.

Field Day participants heard the family’s story of longevity as a certified organic farm serving Community Supported Agriculture shares to Nashville customers. With "human-powered" production methods and help from farm apprentices, Robin and her three children grow two acres of mixed vegetables, herbs and cut flowers, raise a flock of 35 Jacob wool sheep and host on-farm educational events and agritourism opportunities.

Join OAK on October 26, 2026, from 1–4 p.m. ET at Four Hills Farm in Versailles (Woodford Co.), KY, for a Farmer Field Day: Raising Sheep, Marketing Lamb and Conserving Farmland. Learn from Jim Mansfield and Lynn Pruett's decades of experience raising Katahdin hair sheep and building supply chains, including selling to a natural grocery chain.

Tour the pastures and barn and learn about Jim and Lynn's flock and pasture management systems, lamb marketing, multi-farm collaboration, sustainable land management and farmland conservation. Jim and Lynn will demonstrate their humane sheep management systems (pictured).
