Today was something special ❤️
We kicked off our 2026 RISE launch, and the joy was everywhere—games, snacks, laughter, and reconnecting with the kids from last year.

When Amy reviewed what we learned last fall about value and hope, the kids remembered. Not just a little—a lot. Seeds were planted, and today we saw glimpses of growth.

We were really encouraged to have our new RISE Co-Lead, Shannon, with us today. She jumped right in—meeting the kids, laughing with them, and starting to build real connections. You could already see it… she cares deeply. Grateful for her and excited for what God is going to do through her this year.

One of the parts of Bridge the Gap that is closest to my heart is these kids. Watching what God is doing in their lives—building confidence, identity, and hope—is something I’ll never take for granted.
This is why we show up. This is why it matters!

Big shoutout to East Jessamine Middle School! Led by students, they organized a clothing drive to support our friends in need.
Because of their generosity, our spring and summer closet is off to a great start. On Monday night, we hit the streets and were able to serve many individuals in need.
Grateful to see the next generation stepping up and making a difference in their community.
Thank you, Samantha Jones, for your leadership and support!

My son, Elijah, got baptized last week! Incredible to see God’s hand on His life. Nothing brings greater joy to a fathers heart than seeing your children experiencing God’s love and grace.

This is just one snapshot of the many coats and winter items donated through Kroger and the generosity of its customers to help our neighbors stay warm this season.

We’re also so thankful for Bethel Harvest Church and the Family Food Center for helping connect this need to a source of provision. Partnerships like these truly make a difference.

This week our Bridge the Gap Lexington team is heading back into the community to make sure every child and adult we serve has the winter apparel they need to stay safe and warm.

Thank you to everyone helping us stand in the gap for our community!

One of the clearest signs that God is moving in a community is when you see selflessness—real, joyful, genuine care for others. In a world that often feels full of entitlement and “me first” thinking, it is beautiful and refreshing to watch young people light up because someone else is getting what they need.

A few weeks ago, we brought clothing to our RISE Leadership children’s outreach. We didn’t have much for the older kids, but as they sorted through the tables, their excitement wasn’t for themselves. They were celebrating finding things for their little brothers and sisters—holding up jackets, shirts, and shoes with huge smiles because they knew it would bless their family.

This is what love looks like in action.
This is what community looks like.
This is why we do what we do.
