There are over 300 kids coming Aug 1st … and we need you!
On Saturday, August 1st, JAKES Day in Georgetown is going to open the gate to the outdoors for hundreds of kids. It takes a whole outdoor community to make that happen.
Last year, the Double Eagle chapter of the NWTF handed out hundreds of backpacks and fishing poles and helped kids:
🎣 Catch their first fish
🎯 Try archery, shooting sports & even ax throwing
🦃 Compete in a youth turkey calling contest
🦺 Complete their hunter education range requirement for their orange card
🎁 Experience the outdoors in a hands-on way
This is one of those days that sticks with a kid for life…
and the heartbeat of the Double Eagle chapter of the NWTF
but it doesn’t happen without lots of volunteers.
👉 That’s where you come in.
We’re asking for anyone willing to help, to come to the planning meeting on JUNE 2 at 6:30 pm at the Scott County Extension office in Georgetown, KY. No experience needed, just a willingness to show up and be part of something good.
📅 Planning Meeting: June 2
📍 Scott County Extension Office – Georgetown, KY
⏰ 6:30 PM
Come learn how you can help:
• Walk kids to the pond and get them fishing
• Help at activity stations
• Be a friendly face that makes a kid feel welcome
💙 This is what opening the gate looks like.
If you’ve ever said “someone should help these kids get outside”…
👉 This is your chance.
Comment below or message us if you’re interested. We have a group of Bluegrass Sporting Ladies who have already put June 2nd on their calendar.
Let’s make this happen—together!
