The goal of NEP is to educate limited resource families with young children and SNAP clientele to plan nutritious meals on a limited budget.

I had an amazing time with 50+ K-3rd kiddos today at William Wells Brown Community Center. We created the Banana Split Breakfast Bowl. We learned some knife skills. We explored My Plate and discovered how to make this at home using different fruits and grains.

Last night's Cooking through the calendar event was a great success, according to everyone who attended. Today I had the pleasure of assisting rising 5th and 6th graders in practicing knife skills, utilizing a meat thermometer and measuring skills. Oh, and the most important part: learning how to properly wash dishes. Lunch was delicious.

We’ve had a blast learning and cooking together. Today was totally bananas with Banana 🍌 Pancakes 🥞 Last week we made Chicken 🐔 Burgers with a side salad and a few French fries.
