Interested in running for the Lexington City School Board? Local candidates interested in running as an independent for Lexington City School Board in November 2024 must submit the appropriate documents to the Lexington City Office of Elections by 7:00 p.m. on June 18, 2024.

Electing YOUR school board is your right. You are a voter, a taxpayer, and YOU should have the choice of electing who you want to represent you.

The control of who sits on the school board should rest in your ballot, not with 6 people who choose for you.

Lexington's Mayor and City Council members who speak out against electing your school board are supporting Jim Crow policies.

The General Assembly, in 1992, voted to have elected school boards in Virginia. Why is Lexington 30 years behind this decision?
