American Cichlid Association Convention 2026

***Big News***
The Bluegrass Bash - Kentucky Fish Convention is taking place this week. If you've not heard of this event it is the combined national conventions of the American Cichlid Association, American Livebearer Association and International Betta Congress. Nothing like this has ever come to Lexington before. This event is bringing hundreds of aquarium keepers and fish fanatics from across the country and even around the world to central Kentucky. Researchers and PhDs will be talking fish alongside new hobbyists and commercial pet industry representatives. The event is kicking off June 25 and lasting through June 28 and all at the Clarion Hotel and Bluegrass Convention Center off Newtown Pike. The event will feature 11 speakers giving great presentations, 3 fish show competitions, multiple auctions, a swap meet and multiple opportunities to go home with the fish or equipment of your dreams. There will be some endangered species on display and opportunities for attendees to take part in conservation efforts. This event also helps to fund research and conservation efforts for fish around the world and to bring educational opportunities about the hobby to the local community. This event being in Lexington for the 1st time is big news and something you wont want to miss. Besides all over the US attendees on their way to Lexington for this event are coming from Mexico, Canada, Australia, Columbia and parts of Europe. While attending, see how many people you can meet that have a fish species named after them. There will be a few in attendance- can you identify them?
