Bluegrass Land Conservancy

Bluegrass Land Conservancy Since 1995, Bluegrass Land Conservancy has protected over 38,000 acres of land in 26 counties in KY!

Bluegrass Land Conservancy is the largest regional, accredited land trust in Kentucky, and spans Kentucky's two most populated metropolitan areas, covering the very best farmland in the Commonwealth, with over 30,000 acres of land already protected. BLC protects the Bluegrass region for current and future generations, with a focus on prime farmland soils, scenic open space, water resources, natural areas, rural heritage, and, of course, agricultural viability.

The future of Kentucky’s farmland starts with the people who care for it today.🌱

Hear from Jim Mansfield and Lynn Pruett of Four Hills Farm-Lamb about why land conservation and stewardship matter—not just for their farm, but for their community and generations to come.

Conservation is about more than protecting land—it’s about giving it the chance to heal and flourish.🌿

At Bay Stone Farm, second-generation owners Anastasia Curwood, Carol Skricki, and Karen Isberg are restoring habitat, removing invasive species, and allowing their pastures to re-wild while preserving a place where people, horses, and nature can thrive together.

Their commitment to stewardship is helping ensure this conserved property remains healthy and resilient for generations to come.

🎥See Anastasia and Carol discuss caring for the land with vision, dedication, and heart.

The future of Kentucky’s farmland starts with education.🌱

At Locust Trace AgriScience Center, students are learning that agriculture and conservation go hand in hand—because caring for the land today means a stronger future for Kentucky tomorrow.

At Bluegrass Land Conservancy, we’re investing in the next generation of land stewards who will protect, sustain, and grow our working lands for years to come.

The future of Kentucky's farmland is already taking root.🌱

At Locust Trace AgriScience Center, students are gaining the hands-on experience needed to become tomorrow's farmers, conservationists, veterinarians, and agricultural leaders.

Investing in young people means investing in the future of Kentucky's working lands. We're grateful for the educators and students who are helping make sure our agricultural heritage continues to thrive.

Happy International Youth Day!💚

Back to school means it's time to grow more than grades.🌱📚

Agriculture education helps students discover where their food comes from, why healthy farmland matters, and how they can help protect Kentucky's natural resources.

At Bluegrass Land Conservancy, we're excited to connect more students with Kentucky's farms, forests, wildlife, and working lands through new education initiatives coming soon. Stay tuned for more educational offerings from BLC.

And don't miss tomorrow's International Youth Day spotlight featuring the incredible students and educators at Locust Trace Agriscience Center!
