πŸš” Mark Your Calendars ~ Thursday, September 3rd!

We're honored to welcome Corporal David Jones of the South Carolina Department of Public Safety as our guest speaker at the Rotary Club of Lexington!

With 21 years of service as a South Carolina State Trooper, Cpl. Jones has dedicated his career to serving, protecting, and connecting with the communities he serves. Since 2013, he's worked as a Community Relations Officer - building bridges between law enforcement and the public through trust, education, and genuine presence.

Beyond the badge, his heart is in the community. This is going to be a great conversation. 🀝

πŸ‹οΈ What a morning at the Rotary Club of Lexington!

We had the privilege of hearing from Bert Sorin, President of Sorinex Exercise Equipment, and what a story he brought with him.

Bert shared the history of Sorinex Exercise Equipment, from its humble beginnings to becoming the go-to guys for the go-to guys - the strength and conditioning choice for elite athletes, pro teams, military, and more. 207 employees strong and still family-owned right here in South Carolina. πŸ’ͺ

He also left us with 3 keys to business success:
βœ… Passion: love what you do
βœ… Resilience: keep going when it's hard
βœ… Strategic & Dynamic Thinking: stay sharp, stay adaptable

Thank you, Bert, for a genuinely inspiring morning. The Rotary Club of Lexington is grateful! πŸ™Œ

πŸ“¦ Last Call: Fill the Pantry, Fuel the Future!

Club members, Thursday's meeting is your last chance to bring donations for the
Lexington County School District One Pantry!

We just made our second drop-off of the month as part of our August service initiative, and the response has been amazing. Let's finish strong and make this final push count for families right here in our community! πŸ’ͺ

πŸ‹οΈ Guest Speaker This Thursday!

Join us on August 27th as we welcome Bert Sorin, President of Sorinex Exercise Equipment β€” a Lexington-based, family-owned company that has been setting the standard in strength training equipment for over 40 years!

Sorinex was founded in 1980 by Bert's father, Richard "Pops" Sorin, who started welding custom equipment in a two-car garage after school each day. Today, Sorinex is the most sought-after strength brand for professional sports teams, colleges, high schools, and military bases around the world.

What a story of American entrepreneurship right here in our own backyard. We can't wait to hear Bert share it!

πŸ™ Thank You, Carol!

Yesterday we had the privilege of hearing from Carol Burdette, and what an inspiring morning it was!

With 32 years as a Rotarian, Carol shared her remarkable Rotary journey, including her recent international trips supporting global polio eradication efforts. A member of the Rotary Club of Anderson, Carol has served as Club President, two-term District Governor for District 7750, and has held countless leadership roles, including District representative on the Council on Legislation and Immediate Past President of the CART Board.

Carol is a recipient of Rotary's prestigious Service Above Self Award, a Major Donor, Benefactor, and member of the Paul Harris, Bequest, and Polio Plus Societies. She has also received the Order of the Palmetto β€” the highest civilian honor in South Carolina.

For Carol, service isn't just something she does β€” it's who she is. Thank you for reminding us what a life of service truly looks like! 🌹

A special thanks to Rotarian Angelle LaBorde for bringing Carol to our club!

🌟 Rotarians in Action! 🌟

On Saturday morning, members of the Rotary Club of Lexington rolled up their sleeves for our quarterly Adopt-a-Highway cleanup on Old Chapin Road (near Mount Horeb Church)!! Our goal was to recruit 12 volunteers for this initiative, and our amazing club exceeded expectations with 13 Rotarians & 3 children of Rotarians coming out to beautify our community! πŸ§ΉπŸ’™

A special thank-you to our chairperson, Al Edens, who has faithfully led this effort for many years and continues to inspire our club to serve!

Rotarians are true "People of Action," and partnering with PalmettoPride's statewide Adopt-a-Highway program allows us to make a visible, lasting impact right here in Lexington County. This hands-on project is just one of the many ways our club members give back to keep our local roadways litter-free.

Proud of our team and grateful to everyone, especially the students, who dedicated their Saturday morning to keeping Palmetto State roadways clean! πŸ‘βœ¨

Did you know? South Carolina’s Adopt-a-Highway program, coordinated by PalmettoPride and SC Dept. of Transportation, has been cutting roadside litter across our state since 1987!
