Sailing Center Chesapeake We are the home for High School sailing in St. Mary's County. We compete in Varsity & JV regattas

High School Sailing in Southern Maryland was started in 1999 by Stovy Brown, with the help of the Southern Maryland Sailing Association. The creation of the Sailing Center Chesapeake followed in 2009 acting as a facilitator for local high school sailing teams, allowing students from high schools throughout Southern Maryland to sail in Varsity and JV events. Sailing Center Chesapeake is a non-profi

t organization, supported by the ​Southern Maryland Sailing Foundation 501(c)3,​ which provides for most of the high-capital equipment involved in sailing. We believe strongly in providing youth in our community with the opportunity to interact with, and experience, the waterways that surround their home. Summer camp registration is underway and filling up! Don't miss out on a spot in one of our awesome on-water camps! No sailing experience needed.
Learn to Sail - Ages 8-16 - your sailor will learn all the ins and outs of sailing and be racing by the end of the week.
Spirit of America - Open to middle schoolers, this nationally recognized program teaches boater safety. Participants will take the full Maryland Boater's Safety Course and earn their boater's license, plus spend time on the water learning to paddle, sail, and how to drive a power boat.
