Definition: Homelessness

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Homelessness

This is a good read to get a foundational view of the different levels and layers of "homelessness" as defined within the United States and by the United Nations.

At Finding Home Again, we also consider the aspects of the heart and mind in which individuals are "homeless" emotionally which often leads to a physical state of homelessness.

Many blessings,

Community Gardens or Garden Co-Ops are a great way to support the homeless and underserved in our communities.

In the winter is when planning begins...

What to grow. Where to grow.

If you need help with ideas on what to grow or how/when to get started, look up your local university agricultural recommendations.

In Texas, best site I’ve found is:

Agrilifeextension.tamu.edu

• Planning
• Raised Bed & Container Gardens
• How to make a grow box

Many plants require you to begin indoors first part of January.

AgriLife Extension delivers research-based educational programs and solutions for all Texans. Learn more by browsing our featured solutions and programs.

Meet the needs you see.

From region to region, the homeless have differing and varying needs dependent largely on weather and resources invested into the homeless community.

This week, focus on your area. Within a 5 to 10 mile radius or a 5 to 10 minute drive of your home, where is there homelessness in any form?

When I asked God to show me it was interesting what highlighted:
1. A lost pet. In response, our family has been praying for the return of the pet,

2. A home up for sale / a home recently purchased,

3. Moving vehicles,

4. A certain intersection where displaced people gather - to pick up day labourer jobs and another location where they panhandle,

and more.

As we head into 2021, I believe fully that our with each other matter deeply and our growth in this area will be shown by our ability to love, honor and respect one another for not only where a person is - no matter what the state - but to rally behind the version of themselves and the future for another that God shows us and HELP one another by "meeting the needs we see".
