Mifflin County Chapter gives two scholarships yearly to graduating high school students and provides supplies for Mifflin Co.

Our Chapter is honored to host the annual Region 5 Fall Meeting to be held Thurs., Oct. 22 at the Academy of Science and Technology in Lewistown.
The Meeting is open to all PASR members of Region 5 comprising Blair, Centre, Huntingdon, Mifflin, Snyder and Union Counties.
2025 National Teacher of the Year, Mifflin County High School's own Ashlie Crosson, will be the featured speaker.

10:00 Business meeting
11:15 Featured speaker Ashlie Crosson: her nation-wide tour experiences
12:00 Luncheon prepared by the Academy's Culinary Students:

October 13 is Harshbarger's Sub 'n' Malt's Fund-raiser Tuesday for the benefit of PASR! How it works: Enjoy a meal, take-out or anything else at either Harshbarger's location. Present the yellow ticket or a screen shot/cell phone photo thereof to the cashier and Harshbarger's will give a percentage of your bill to PASR. No fuss, no muss!

Jim Shannon challenged PASR members with Trivia questions like these at the October 1 luncheon. Assisted by score-keeper Beth Aumiller, Jim showed even the most trivially-challenged of us a good time!
For a good part of their careers, Jim taught middle school English, while Beth wrangled 6th grade at Lewistown Middle School.

Our next luncheon meeting is coming up.

The answer is "Who loves Jeopardy?" Or Trivial Pursuit? Remember the fun we had with that? Well, trivia is coming to our October 1st meeting. Jim Shannon will host the fun, with his lovely assistant Beth Aumiller. Don't miss out! As always, we will meet the first Thursday of the month, Oct. 1, at noon at the Birch Hill Event Center in Burnham.
The menu for this luncheon will include the following: Cole Slaw, Ham, Mashed Sweet Potatoes, Green Beans Almandine, Roll/Butter, and Gingerbread. Cost of the meal is still $17.50.

It's almost Back to School time! Except for us who will be happily (we hope!) acknowledging the fact that "We're Not Going Back to School" with our annual picnic, and bingo, only it's not an actual picnic this year, for we will meet at the Birch Hill Event Center, 1100 N. Pine St., Burnham. We will gather at noon, Thurs., Sept. 3, for traditional picnic fare: cheeseburger slider, hot dog, macaroni salad, baked beans, JP's house chips and fresh fruit cup.

Our chapter was recognized by State PASR for 60 years of service to school retirees and the community. President Joan Loewen displays the Diamond Anniversary citation which was presented by Beth Collins, Vice President of PASR, on May 5th, and was shared with the membership on Thursday, May 7.

Zoey Foltz (L) and Kendall Cavanaugh (R), Mifflin County High School seniors, accepted PASR scholarships from Education Support Chairperson Jenny McCardle (C). Zoey is bound for the Nursing Program at Bloomsburg University, while Kendall will attend Slippery Rock University in Health and Physical Education at the elementary level.
