Hands on clay project. Hometown Potters' Studio llc is in the red,white & goose mood!

For September's Lewistown First Friday, we celebrate Goose Day! The project will be a Goose Legs dish. The prototype is still in the kiln so here it is when I finished fabricating the form. As always, 6-9pm this Friday, no reservations, no age limits old or young, no experience necessary, $10.

Hey Kids! The Lewistown Sentinel needs your help to illustrate the weather. See below and Happy Goose Day in the Juniata River Valley!

🪿 KIDCAST IS GETTING A GOOSE DAY TWIST! 🌦️

For September, we’re inviting our young artists to put a little Goose Day spin on The Sentinel’s Kidcast!

Instead of simply drawing the weather, we want kids to show us GEESE in the weather! 🪿☀️🌧️❄️💨

What does a goose do on a sunny day? How does it handle a rainy afternoon? What happens when a goose encounters snow, fog or a really windy day?

Let their imaginations take it from there! 😂🪿

We’ll feature selected drawings in The Sentinel throughout September as part of our daily Kidcast.

📄 Download and print the attached Kidcast form, have your child create their masterpiece, and send it our way!

Completed Kidcasts can be dropped off at The Sentinel, mailed to 21 S. Brown St., Lewistown, or scanned as a PDF or JPG and emailed to [email protected].

We can’t wait to see what our local kids come up with! 🪿🎨

Too much talent has left this earth in the last few days. First Dolly, then Tim, and now the Queen of the Dots - Yayoi Kusama.
To all of you creatives out there- keep the torch lit!

Avant-garde artist Yayoi Kusama has died at 97.

She spent her childhood coping with hallucinations, drawing as a way to make sense of them. That instinct shaped everything she made for the next seventy years.

Since the late 1990s her museum shows drew record crowds worldwide. In 2016 she was named to TIME’s 100 Most Influential People and her touring exhibitions went on to break attendance records across Asia, Europe and America.

Yayoi was an extraordinary talent whose work brought colour, wonder and a sense of infinite possibility to millions of people around the world. 💛
