Following God’s plan for relationship leads to happy marriages most often. In contrast, putting intimacy first, brings people who may not be right for each other into a close relationship before they know if they are compatible. So then they are bound to one another spiritually, but fighting against one another relationally, because they are trying to force compatibility by trying to change their partner’s traits to become more compatible. That’s why some relationships just always seem to be like oil and water. Constantly fighting, nitpicking, not content. Trust Jesus to lead you to the right one. But even if they are the right one, leave intimacy off the table until marriage. It will be stronger and more harmonious because you did.
