Sneak peak into Greg Shattenberg's studio & process

We had the opportunity to visit Greg's home studio last May of 2025 to see his works in process for his upcoming solo show *opening this Friday*. It was fascinating to see the iterations - all the searching and complex layering involved in his eye-popping, large scale mixed media works.

See the culmination of this past year++ of work, & join us this Friday at LA Arts during the June Art Walk Block party from 5–8pm for the Opening Reception.

📢Dedication of the Welcome Immigrants Mural

June 26 | 3:30pm | Corner of Ash & Lisbon St.

Music▪️Food▪️Remarks▪️Meet the Artists Rachel Gloria Adams & Ryan Adams

LA Arts wants to invite our community to come to the dedication of the Welcome Immigrants mural this coming Friday, June 26 at 3:30 pm. Lisbon Street will be closed to traffic (and parked cars) from Pine to Main St. that afternoon and into the evening, for the dedication event and then the Art Walk Block Party from 5 to 8.

There will be music and food for the dedication, and remarks about the message of the mural as a tribute to immigrants throughout our community's history and in the present and future. Mayor Sheline and Fowsia Musse will be among the speakers, as will the artists, Ryan and Rachel Adams of Portland, who will speak about the message, including the gorgeous fabric designs, a tribute to Lewiston's history as a textile center.

OUTSIDER Exhibition

Featuring 41 paintings by outsider artist, Maury Ornest. Diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder, Ornest ultimately found refuge in painting. Over the course of his life, he created more than 1,400 artworks and thousands of journal pages, discovered after his passing.

New Park Alley murals, part 2:
The Lewiston Public Art Committee commissioned local artists to add their personal touches to the alley behind 140 Lisbon Street, accessible off Ash Street. Many thanks to property owner Richard Avery for his support.

Working primarily in acrylic and heavily influenced by surrealism and pop art, Renee C. uses bold imagery and distortion to turn familiar objects into emotional and social commentary. She believes art should say something. If you feel something strongly, express it loudly.

As a Lewiston-area artist, Renee is deeply inspired by the community: its resilience, creativity, and openness to people from all walks of life. Lewiston’s growing arts culture and sense of shared humanity make it the perfect place for conversations through public art.
