We have seen dozens of our community be taken unjustly in the last year, separating and traumatizing families, shattering communities, and disrupting work environments. This included a beloved community leader and volunteer of Gather to Grow, who thanks to incredible, fast community and legal support, was released and has returned home after a harrowing month in detention. Many many more people have not been released and even more live in constant and daily fear. The full report on this can be found at lighthouseME.org.

We had a beautiful and enriching time at our Herbal Plant Walk & Workshop last week led by our Community Food Liaison Claudio. We deepened our knowledge of our ealing and nourishing plant friends in the Gathering Garden, harvested and processed elderberries, and transformed the common and beloved herb mint into Sekanjabin, a refreshing ancient Iraninan sweet and sour tonic. See comments for the recipe!
