Attn CMAS Athletes, parents, guardians and coaches:

CMAS is not formally telling folks what they can and can't do as it relates to this weekend's weather and keeping safe.

HOWEVER we are asking that if you intend to be at the Mountain this weekend (now thru Monday) you MUST communicate directly with a coach BEFORE making plans to ski/snowboard to make sure you will have the proper gear and on site support to safely do so. DO NOT show up to a group ski without first making contact with a coach. We are leaving the decision to safely navigate the cold temps up to the individual coach and athletes/guardians.

Parents, Guardians, and Coaches please use your judgement for your unique dynamic but do not be afraid to reschedule when in doubt.

Attached is the most recent weather briefing from the National Weather Service.

The key messages are:
➔ Arctic cold front crosses this afternoon with a bitter cold air mass settling over the region this weekend.
➔ Winter storm brings moderate to heavy snow Sunday afternoon through Monday evening.
➔ Hazard: Arctic front brings snow showers and squalls that will reduce visibility and create slick travel from the
mountains to the coast this afternoon into the evening commute.
➔ Hazard: Coldest wind chills tonight through Saturday will bring rapid onset of frostbite to exposed skin.
➔ Hazard: Moderate to heavy snow will bring hazardous travel late Sunday through the Monday evening
commute.

If you are unsure how to communicate directly with a coach please contact either Head Coach Glenn 207-595-3095 or CMAS Secretary Melinda 207-608-2720.

Stay warm and stay safe everyone...........
