Women in Timber Unique, vital, & renewable; trees offer so much, making them crucial to rich, biodiverse habitats.

The Purpose of Federated Women In Timber is to bring together like-minded individuals and organizations to effectively communicate our issues and influence policy that affects the health and future of our Forests. Overall we wish to promote a positive image of the timber industry while fostering communication between the workers, the regulators, and forest users.

🚨 Breaking News 🚨

For decades, anti-forestry groups have weaponized the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) to delay or halt forest management activities that serve the public interest.

In a major decision today, the U.S. Supreme Court corrected the aggressive role that some courts have taken in reviewing an agency’s compliance under NEPA.

We are grateful to the Mountain States Legal Foundation for representing AFRC and other partners as amici in this landmark case.

We are hopeful today's ruling sets a clear precedent for restoring common sense to NEPA analysis and deferential judicial review, allowing land managers to move forward with projects that reduce catastrophic wildfire risks, restore forest health, and build more resilient landscapes.

With the passing of our dear member, Carole Asbury, we want to commemorate her by planting a tree in her honor. Carole was a wonderful volunteer and state officer. She gave more than 15 years of service to Idaho Women in Timber. We were honored to know and work alongside this great lady who knew the importance of giving back to her community.
