Maine CDC reports an increase in pertussis cases this year, mainly affecting teens and young kids. Early care is key.

The Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention (Maine CDC) reports 101 pertussis cases between January 1 and October 23, 2024. This surpasses the 76 cases reported throughout all of 2023. Ages ranged from 1 month to 55 years old. Teenagers (13-19 years old) accounted for 43% of cases. Children....

Today, we had the privilege of attending the "Exploring Our Interconnection" event, hosted by the Sewall Foundation. It was an enriching experience where we connected with people from different organizations and discussed pressing issues such as improving sustainability in our collective ecosystem, tackling the housing crisis, and enhancing collaboration in workforce resources and many other compelling subjects .We're grateful to the Sewall Foundation for organizing this incredible event, which provided both enjoyment and valuable learning opportunities.

We are honored to receive the Outspoken Allies of the Immigrant and BIPOC Communities award from the AK Collaborative.

LA Family Support Services hosted an event with other AK collaborative members by inviting the Secretary of State. The community members had a chance to meet the secretary of state and her staff. The discussion was about how to get a driver’s license and solve issues like license suspension, traffic violation tickets, and many important information related to driver’s licenses. The community members had a chance to ask questions and give the secretary of state feedback on a better way to serve the community.
