Su***de prevention starts with awareness, compassion, and connection.

Many people struggling with suicidal thoughts may not openly ask for help, but there are often warning signs that someone is hurting. Checking in, listening without judgment, and encouraging support can make a meaningful difference.

Tomorrow looks like a hot one for many areas of Maine. Our bodies are not adapted to the heat yet. On the first hot days of the year, it's especially important to take breaks in the shade or A/C and drink plenty of water. Stay cool and with these tips

🌿🕷️ Tick season is here in Maine and knowing the difference between common ticks can help protect you, your family, and your pets.

Deer ticks (blacklegged ticks) are the primary carriers of Lyme disease in Maine. They are much smaller than American dog ticks and can be as tiny as a sesame seed. Dog ticks are larger and easier to spot but can still carry other illnesses.

✔️ Check yourself, children, and pets after spending time outdoors
✔️ Wear light-colored clothing and use EPA-approved tick repellent
✔️ Shower after being outside and inspect hidden areas like behind knees, waistbands, scalp, and underarms
✔️ Remove attached ticks promptly with fine-tipped tweezers

Early symptoms of tick-borne illness can include:
• Fever or chills
• Fatigue
• Headache
• Muscle or joint aches
• Rash (including the “bullseye” rash associated with Lyme disease)

If you develop symptoms after a tick bite, contact your healthcare provider.

Stay safe and enjoy Maine outdoors!

Mental health care is health care.

Struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, substance use, burnout, or simply feeling overwhelmed does not make someone weak - it makes them human. Every day, we see the courage it takes for people to ask for help, show up for appointments, support loved ones, and keep going even during incredibly difficult moments.

At Community Clinical Services, we believe mental health care should be accessible, compassionate, and free from judgment. Healing happens when people feel heard, respected, and supported, and no one should have to navigate that journey alone.

This Mental Health Awareness month, we encourage our community to:

• Check in on one another
• Speak openly about mental health
• Ask for help when needed
• Remember that recovery and healing are possible

You are not alone.
And your story matters. 💚
