Shelter Supporters of Hancock Co KY 501c3 group that conducts fundraisers and collects donations for Hancock County KY Animal Shelter We became a 501c3 public non-profit organization in 2018.

Our main mission is to meet the needs of the animals at Hancock County Animal Shelter. Funds are used for emergency vetting, extra vaccines, flea/tick treatment & preventative, heart worm testing for every dog, heart worm preventative for negative dogs, heart worm treatment of positive dogs (when funds allow), a free microchip for every privately adopted dog, and various other ongoing needs. We work diligently with partner rescues to save the life of every stray or surrendered animal in Hancock County, KY. The euthanasia rate is virtually zero at our Shelter! We also help owners keep their pets, by providing resources and education on behavior training, low-cost spay/neuter options, and other various needs. We have established a low-cost microchip program in Hancock County for the public. We are proud to have earned the following awards for Non-profit Groups:

Stitch was wandering in the shelter area.
No one has come by or called about him.
He is a young guy, less than 2 years old, and is a bit thin at 55 pounds.
He has settled into the shelter routine quickly, is friendly with all, and is a happy pup. He has met other dogs calmly in the play yard.

Please share Stitch!! Kennel life is hard for these young dogs.

Cheryl is our longest resident.
Staff and volunteers describe her as "the best girl".
She is happy and friendly and will stand on her back legs to greet us in the morning. Cheryl loves to go to the play yard to toss toys in the air and roll in the grass. She also likes leash walks and car rides! Our weekend worker takes Cheryl to the park to walk.
This girl keeps her kennel clean. She responds to routines like cleaning time and recall to go back to kennel happily.
Cheryl is good with calm dogs and the shelter kitty.
She does not appreciate dogs in her face. She would do well as an only dog too.
Cheryl is about 3 years old and 60 pounds.
