Bucknell Mechanical Engineering students benefit from opportunities to work closely with faculty members on unique projects. Brennah Kennedy '26 got the opportunity to work with Professor Nate Siegel to build a solar powered boat.

It’s race weekend for Bucknell Bison Racing at the 2026 SAE Baja Rochester competition. The team is on site and doing final inspection and preparation of the car. Engine check and technical inspection come next! More updates to come…

As we wrap up the final exam period, it's worth another look at all of the work accomplished by our seniors in their Senior Design projects. The projects were fantastic this year, with some great outcomes to help veterans compete in winter sports, make better human-powered shaved ice, help companies deliver their products, or participate in national student competitions. Take a look at the galleries below to see our MECH students exhibiting their projects. (A few are under NDA, so you'll have to imagine even more cool work done by the students!)

This has become a fun annual event for our MECH juniors. As the culminating experience of a cross-curricular project in Mechanical Design (MECH392) and Intro to Lab Practice (MECH222), students work hard to produce robots that drive, record temperatures, and stop as close as possible to the goal location. The late nights, broken parts, and rapid pivots to new ideas become badges of honor while the smiles and celebrations are memories for a lifetime.

The Mechanical Engineering Department is saddened to share the passing of MECH student Andi Bushati '26.
