Our hearts are heavy. We were devastated to hear of the passing of our dear friend Amanda Humphrey yesterday morning. Amanda has been a member of the Women In Business Committee since the event’s inception. She and her daughter Tara have been in charge of flowers and catering for each of our Luncheons. Amanda’s insights and suggestions were invaluable to our committee and we always knew her production of the event would be top-notch and beautiful.

Amanda was kind, compassionate and the most fun—she always had a smile and never had a harsh word. She was giving and welcoming. Amanda was everything you could want in a friend and community member.

She was our friend, but, more importantly, she was a mother, grandmother and a wife. There was never a conversation where Tim, Tara, Arianna or Alex were not mentioned—they were her life and the love she had for them radiated when she spoke of them. Please keep her family and friends in your thoughts this week and for the months to come.

"To lose a friend is the greatest of all losses." – Cicero

We are so thrilled to announce the 2025 Women In Business Award recipients!

Courtney McMahon, pictured left, was named BusinessWoman of the Year. Courtney is a bright spot in our community and is always willing to lend a hand. She is a hard working entrepreneur and the saying "if you want something done, ask the busiest person you know" perfectly describes her work ethic.

Angela Leveille, pictured center, is our Volunteer of the Year. Her dedication to our local youth sports leagues run by Maximum Velocity is appreciated by friends, family and youth parents. We are lucky to have her in Marshall County.

Alice Donahue, pictured right, was selected as the Lifetime Service Award winner. Her lifelong dedication to caring for people in our community has not gone unnoticed and she never seeks credit for her contributions. Alice was an employee of H&S Pharmacy for 33 years and has been heavily involved in outreach at First Baptist Church, Lewisburg her whole life.

It is always a joy to honor such wonderful women in our community. Congratulations to these women who empower those around them!!!
