🎃 Getting Ahead Shamokin’s Halloween Party! 👻🎨

Little hands, big imaginations and plenty of Halloween fun! The kids had a boo-tiful time painting pumpkins, enjoying spooky treats and sharing lots of smiles and giggles. 🧡🖤 Seeing their excitement and hearing their sweet little comments made it all the more special! 💜

A big thank-you to LeAnn Johnston and Angie for bringing the spooky treats, and to Rosie Ken and Lynnann McKithen for purchasing pumpkins for our group to paint! 🎃 Your kindness helped make this a fun and memorable celebration for everyone.

With Pennsylvania’s winters often arriving quickly and bringing intense cold, don’t wait until temperatures drop—apply now to ensure you’re prepared! No repayment is required for LIHEAP grants, and the application process is simple.

🎉 We’re excited to share some BIG news!

Getting Ahead Foundation has received a $20,000 Impact Grant from the Community Giving Foundation’s new Economic Mobility Fund! 💙

This inaugural grant will help us expand our Getting Ahead in the Valley program into the Mount Carmel area, bringing our 19-week program to more families in the community.

Getting Ahead helps participants build knowledge, confidence and skills as they work toward their own goals, greater stability and self-sufficiency.

We’re grateful for this investment in economic mobility and excited about the opportunities it will create for individuals and families in the Mount Carmel area!

⭐️⭐️ Wow! ⭐️⭐️ What a huge turnout for today’s Milton Harvest Festival Parade‼️

Getting Ahead Foundation gave out about 200 lbs of candy 🍭 to hundreds of happy children 😊

💙 Thank you to our volunteers, staff, graduates, and children for giving up your Saturday afternoon to promote Getting Ahead in our community!

⭐️ PA State Trooper Sarah Barrett, Community Service Officer, will be coming to speak about staying safe and avoiding scams.

⭐️ We could all use an update on this topic, especially with AI becoming more popular‼️

Inviting all past graduates 🎓 to come and enjoy the discussion and also enjoy some pizza, 🍕 salad, 🥗 chips, and dessert! 😊

Please help spread the word, if you would like applications for people you know or to place at your church or other organizations that we may not have already, please contact me and I’ll get them to you. We will be helping those in need within 30 mins of Mifflinburg. We will have approximately 350-400 youth and plan to have 50 sites to do repairs on so please reach out so we can help as many people as possible.
