Thank you to the friends and family that went out of their way to support all of us. Thank you to me also for always showing up. Thank you to the First Presbyterian Church in Lewisburg. The amount of gratitude we have for every one who made this possible is immense. We love all of you so very much.

Tonight is our first Tech Rehearsal at MCHS. Everyone is so excited to get on that stage finally after 4 months of practice.

Please come see these young people on Friday and Saturday. Such a fun production for all ages.

These kids have worked so hard and want to share this fabulous story with you.

My musings below:

So I was thinking about the show on the plane today. I wanted to offer an uplifting take on the story for all of us (me included) odd ones in the world. ("She is kind of odd")

Beauty and the Beast is a wonderful tale for the crazy time we are living in.

I believe it is a story of kindness, love, and bravery. Belle does not want to be confined by the social norns. She wants more for herself than a husband and kids. She sees bigger dreams for herself. Beast is mean and scary but also sad. We all know these kind of people. Really mean on the outside but that is because they have big hurts on the inside. He just can't believe that this women would be remotely interested in him. Her kindness brings out his kindness and he chooses to change himself. People can have that effect on others- like a mirror.

Belle is considered odd and strange by the whole town yet she is the hero of our story. So here is an amazing story that shows us that the strange people, weird people can win in the end. We learn that her struggle to find a place in this world leads her to victory. She does not have to accept her fate. She can be herself and that can be embraced.

She stands up for her father. She stands up for the Beast. And in the end she stands up for herself and all the strange, weird people of the world. And really we are all strange weird people. All of us have that weird side we don't always show.

Belle says it is ok to be different and odd. There is a place in this world for all of us including the odd and beastly and it is worth fighting for.

So those are my musings for today.

This story is needed and timely in this world of big divides and villains and haters. Belle's kindness wins out in the end. Her love of a Beast wins. Love wins. Kindness wins and the courage to fight wins. ❤️. .

Three Age Groups:
1.) Ages 10 and under
2.) Tween/Teens (11-19)
3.) Adult (20+)

Prepare any kind of art/craft/multi-media that incorporates characters or themes from Beauty and the Beast to be displayed during intermission of the performance (Period pieces, landscapes of the time era, main characters, book cover reimagined, poster reimagined, sculpture, etc.)

All kinds of multi-media and art are welcome and encouraged.

DUE DATE: April 22nd at 1pm. Please turn in your pieces at the Marshall County Art Guild on the Square during normal business hours the week of April 17th, 2023. Please place the form below on the back of your piece.
