🚨 Orange Township Firefighters Need Your Support 🚨
On Election Day, May 5, we’re asking our community to vote FOR the Township Fire Levy — an investment in the safety and future of Orange Township.
This levy is not a new tax. It is a continuation of the previous fire levy that expired in December, ensuring we can maintain the level of service you’ve come to rely on when you call 911.
As our community continues to grow, so does the demand for emergency services. Passing this levy is essential to maintaining the effective and reliable emergency response that our residents expect and deserve.
Your firefighters are committed to protecting you, your family, and your neighbors every single day. With your support, we can continue to keep Orange Township safe.

This week, your fire department assisted Genoa Township Fire Department at a house fire through a process called automatic aid. This process allows for resource sharing when needed. This is reciprocal, IAFF Local 3816 relies on automatic aid from our neighboring organizations for similar emergencies.

Your fire department participated in egg drop experiments throughout the township. These annual events blend community engagement, science, and of course fire trucks, to see which eggs sustain the fall from the bucket. Always a fun assignment!

While voters in Orange Township will see a new fire levy on the May 5 primary election ballot, township officials want to ensure the community understands the levy is simply a continuation of what was previously on the books.

04/08/2026

You may notice that the upcoming 2-mill fire levy on the May ballot is listed as a new levy—but we want to provide some important context.

This is not a new tax, but due to changes in Ohio law, replacement levies are no longer permitted. Because of this, the levy must appear on the ballot as a new request.

The current levy expired in December 2025 and will continue to collect through 2026. This ballot issue is about continuing that funding so we can maintain the level of fire and EMS services our community relies on.

As Orange Township continues to grow, so does the demand for emergency services. This levy will help ensure we can keep pace—supporting staffing, equipment, and response capabilities to serve our residents safely and effectively.

Learn more about what this means for our community and stay informed as Election Day approaches.
