3T's 3T's was started to help families in need enjoy the holiday season by providing the traditional staples of the holidays, Christmas trees and turkeys.

Tonight we had the privilege of helping out a local family. We were connected by Camryn’s cheer coach and I’m so happy she did! We brought the family a brand new tree & ornaments, but after hearing what they’ve been through and their struggle, we couldn’t just leave. We drove to a nearby Walmart and purchased more items for their Christmas tree and everything they need to make a delicious Christmas eve dinner, along with a gift card. We never do these things for recognition or appraisal, we do it because we can and it’s Christmas! No family, especially with little kids, should have a Christmas without a tree and all the happiness that comes along with the holiday. The mom kept saying that it was such a blessing, but truly it was a blessing for us to meet them and to help make their Christmas a joyous one! Thank you, Mary Kathryn Fodel, for connecting us with this incredible family and for coming shopping with us!

And to all of our family & friends, take a moment this holiday season to do something nice for someone. Kindness truly goes a long way! You never know, that one small act of kindness can truly make a difference in someone’s life!

Many have asked whether or not we’re still doing 3T’s, the answer is yes, but unofficially. Between the move and getting Camryn where she needs to be medically, I haven’t had the chance to file in the state of NC. However, a couple of weeks ago, a friend of mine connected me with a single mom in Columbus who was struggling this year and, since I was in OH for a doctors appt for Camryn, I brought a tree and ornaments with me. While I wish we could’ve done more, I was happy that our charity was able to provide her and her children with some Christmas happiness. This morning, Derek dropped off a tree and ornaments to a family in need in Greensboro. Again, while we wish we could do more as we’ve done in years past, we are still trying to provide happiness to families in need! Thank you to all that have supported us in the past years and we hope to start 3T’s here in NC next holiday season!!

So this year we came in 1 short of our goal of helping 15 families through our charity, but I think we did pretty good! We partnered with the Friends of Faith Pruden Foundation who connected us with families that were/are affected by pediatric cancer. Each year we meet so many incredible families and get to hear their stories, most of them sad stories. But it makes us happy to know that our help was the glimmer of hope and faith that they were searching for, especially as the new year is quickly approaching. Watching our son fight cancer was humbling and blessing in disguise. As my husband, Derek, posted last night, our cancer journey has made us better people. We appreciate the little things and definitely don’t take things for granted. Tomorrow is never promised, which is why we do what we do! You can’t put off until tomorrow what you can do today, which is love a little harder.

Thank you to everyone that donated this year! We couldn’t have done any of this without your help! Until next year!

The last of 5 families just came to pick up their Christmas goodies! We are so blessed to have partnered with such an amazing organization this year! We know that Skylor is looking down on us and proud of us for helping kids like him! This year was for you, baby boy!!

The day started off a little stressful, but ended in us helping 5 families have a Christmas tree and a complete holiday dinner! We may not meet 15 families this year, but we’ve provided each family so far (10) with more then just a tree, ornaments and food, we’ve provided a beginning and a reason to continue. Each family has a story of how pediatric cancer has affected their family as it has ours! This is why we do what we do! Thanks to you!

We still have donations coming in, so we will do as much as we can within the next few days! Thanks to everyone that’s helped us!

‘Tis the season of giving! Four families will be picking up their brand new trees, ornaments, holiday turkeys with all the fixings! Thanks to your help, we can make this happen! But we’re far from our goal! Walmart gift cards are needed to help us purchase the “fixings”! Any help is greatly appreciated!
