The Sussex LWV is a nonpartisan, all-volunteer organization that has been encouraging informed and active participation in county, state, and federal government since 1957. The League of Women Voters, a nonpartisan political organization, has fought since 1920 to improve our systems of government and impact public policies through citizen education and advocacy. We are running this article to help inform the public about the Georgetown mayor and council election. If you live in Georgetown city limits and are registered to vote in Delaware, vote MAY 9TH. You can register to vote through the Dept. of Elections by phone at (302) 856-5367, in person at 119 N. Race St. in Georgetown or by visiting the Delaware Department of Elections website. YOUR VOTE is YOUR VOICE. Exercise your rights by voting.

The upcoming May 9 mayoral election will be the first real litmus test of how Georgetown residents want their leaders to handle key issues.
