The Spirit at the Beach Foundation, located in Negril, Jamaica, proudly extends heartfelt appreciation to Mr. Omar Hines of Aaron’s Photos and Cinematography for his incredible contribution of over 60 hours of voluntary service to our organization and the artistic community we serve.

Through his professional photography and videography, Mr. Hines captured the beauty, creativity, and spirit of our local artists with exceptional quality and care. Because of his dedication, we are now able to upload professional images of the artists and their paintings to our online ArtPal gallery — an international platform that allows artwork to be viewed and purchased by supporters from around the world. His work has helped give our artists greater visibility and exposure beyond the shores of Jamaica.

As we say in Jamaica, “One hand cyaan clap.” Mr. Hines showed the true meaning of community partnership, generosity, and nation-building through service. His willingness to donate his time and talent reminds us that real impact is created when people come together to uplift others.

The Spirit at the Beach Foundation sincerely thanks Mr. Omar Hines and Aaron’s Photos and Cinematography for standing with us and helping to shine a brighter light on Jamaican creativity and culture.

In the golden sands of Negril's Seven Mile Beach, one woman's vision is lighting up lives, and I'm proud to help tell her story. Marian Luzzi founded Spirit at the Beach to create real change through art, education, and hope. From giving teachers projectors and thousands of e-books that open new worlds for kids, to arming local artisans with tools and training so they can build generational wealth, this foundation proves that small acts of love create big miracles.

Every interview I record, every video I edit, and every story I upload shows me the same thing: the struggle is real, but so is the gratitude. Join us, share this post, and let's spread the spirit together!" Please visit our website at; https://spiritatthebeach.com

My name is Jermaine Dawson, and I’m proud to be a part of the Spirit at the Beach Foundation here in Negril, Jamaica.

This foundation means more than just giving back—it’s about standing with our people when they need it most. From supporting hurricane victims, especially our hardworking beach vendors, to helping individuals build and grow proper businesses, we are committed to strengthening our local community.

We believe in the talent and resilience of Negril. Whether you’re an artist, a photographer, or a craftsman, Spirit at the Beach is here to guide you in marketing your skills and turning your passion into something sustainable.

One of our main goals is to empower people to stand on their own—to be able to help themselves without having to rely on government assistance, especially in times of natural disasters like Hurricane Melissa.

Our focus is simple and intentional: uplifting the people of Negril and the surrounding areas. This is for our locals—our brothers and sisters—ensuring that the support stays right here at home where it’s truly needed.

Together, we’re not just rebuilding… we’re creating opportunities, empowering dreams, and keeping the spirit of Negril alive.

Welcome to our Gratitude Tour!
Extraordinary people are creating magic, and the ripple effect is a sight to behold!

Today’s spotlight: Ginger Conkle and her employer, A. Teichert & Son, Inc.

Thanks to their efforts, two roofs have been replaced; block, board and concrete have been purchased for three homes; two mattresses and a stove were acquired; weaving and jewelry making supplies were provided to multiple artisans; and a donated house is being moved to provide permanent shelter for a young mother and her three children.

This is the power of connection! Ginger has been visiting for 21 years and has fallen in love with Jamaica and its people, with a particular fondness for our beach vendors. After Hurricane Melissa, Ginger wanted to make a difference. Having learned of Spirit At The Beach through one of our Directors, Erika Crossley, Ginger became committed.

Expressing her passion for our cause to her employer, Ginger learned the company would provide matching funds for all donations made by Teichert employees, prior to the end of 2025. Within days, this whirlwind of a fundraiser had secured over $2,000 in donations, which were then matched by A. Teichert & Son, Inc. for a whopping $4,600 in aid.

A week later, she was on a plane, with three suitcases of physical donations to boot!

Thank you Ginger Conkle, A. Teichert & Son, Inc., and Erika Crossley

📣Calling Local Volunteers — All Skill Levels Welcome📣

As we continue standing with the entrepreneurs, artisans, artists, and families rebuilding after Hurricane Melissa, we’re opening our doors for more helping hands.

If you’ve been wanting to support your community, this is a beautiful moment to step forward. 💛

No experience is needed — just heart, patience, and a willingness to help.

Here’s where we need support:

🤝 General Team Volunteers

We’re looking for 2–3 flexible volunteers who can assist wherever help is needed most. Your presence alone makes a difference.

📝 Intake & Follow-Up Team

We need 3–4 volunteers to meet with community members, record their information, and help track both short- and long-term needs. This helps us stay organized and ensures no one is overlooked.

📸 Photographers & Photo Assistants (Amateurs Welcome!)

Help artists take clear photos of their work for their ArtPal galleries. Most phones are perfect — we already have the specs, and we can handle editing if needed.

These galleries allow artists to reach online customers, accept card payments, ship their work, and build new income streams.

🖼️ Gallery & Upload Helpers

Assist artists as they upload photos and create listings in their online galleries. If you’ve ever posted a photo on Facebook or shopped online, you have all the skills required.

📣 Social Media Support for Beach & Street Entrepreneurs

Many small business owners aren’t familiar with posting, sharing links, or simple digital steps that help them reach customers. A little guidance can make a real difference in their confidence and visibility.

If you’re in Jamaica and want to make a meaningful impact — whether you’re experienced or brand new to volunteering — we’d be grateful to have you join us. 🙏

Together, we can uplift the creators, craftspeople, and families who make this island shine.

🌿💛 If you’ve spent time on 7-Mile Beach, you’ve likely met Radcliff — the gentle, talented carver with a warm smile and a gift for creating pieces people treasure for years.

Hurricane Melissa hit him hard. His Whitehall home was literally split in two, leaving him with almost nothing to return to.

Still, you’ll find him on the beach each day, doing what he can, staying positive, and grateful for “the chance to keep on trying.”

Now he needs us.

🙏 Your support will help Radcliff rebuild his home, replace what he’s lost, and get back to crafting the beautiful work so many visitors look forward to.

Every contribution helps more than you know. Let’s help Radcliff rebuild the foundation from which his art grows.

The link in our bio leads straight to ways you can support. And if you have any questions at all, we’re only a message away.
