On Monday, some of our board members had the honor of attending a World Breastfeeding Week event at Nemours, where August was proclaimed as breastfeeding awareness month by the state of Delaware, as well as the city of Wilmington.

Thank you to lactation consultant Alice Ruff from Nemours and Dr. Rohde, a pediatrician at Nemours who serves as the Delaware AAP breastfeeding coordinator, for organizing such a special day! Speaker Mona Liza Hamlin from ChristianaCare highlighted the importance of human milk feeding as well as the work we need to continue to do to decrease disparities in our communities. We are so proud to have these amazing advocates in our state!

Join us this Friday to kick off World Breastfeeding Week at the Lewes Library! We look forward to seeing you there!

Join Beebe Healthcare and Nemours at the Lewes Public Library next Friday, August 1, for a free, family-friendly community event to kick off World Breastfeeding Week!

This fair will provide resources around breast milk feeding to new parents, caregivers, and families. There will also be fun kids activities, raffle prizes, and more!
