🇺🇸 Honoring Our Future Service Members 🇺🇸

Tonight, VFW Post 9592 had the privilege of hosting a special ceremony recognizing graduating seniors from the Levittown and Island Trees communities who have committed to serving our nation in the United States Armed Forces following their high school graduation.

These young men have chosen a path of service, sacrifice, and leadership, joining the proud ranks of Americans who have stepped forward to defend our country and its freedoms. During the ceremony, they were recognized for their commitment and presented with certificates in appreciation of their decision to serve.

We are incredibly proud of these future Sailors and Marines,and we thank them and their families for their dedication to our nation.

Please join us in congratulating these outstanding young Americans as they begin their military careers. We wish them success, safety, and strength in the years ahead.

From all of us at VFW Post 9592, thank you for your commitment to serving the United States of America.

On Saturday April 25, 2026, VFW Post 9592 celebrated Post Member and WWII Veteran Dominick Critelli's 105th Birthday with a Big Band Concert.
After arriving at the Post to the greetings of many local elected officials,
Dominick was then greeted, with a standing ovation by members of the Post, the Post's Auxiliary, Leaders of VFW District 10 and many other friends and guests, when he entered the Post's Hall.
Dominick started the celebration by playing the National Anthem on his Soprano Saxophone.
Upon completion of the National Anthem, Dominick requested the microphone and gave a moving and emotional remarks on why he loves playing our country's National Anthem and the great love he has for this country.
Dominick then got to enjoy a Big Band/Jazz Concert performed by The Joe Pesco Big Band.
During the intermission a birthday cake was rolled out and Dominick, with no trouble at all, blew out all the candles. He was then presented a handmade walking stick by Past Post Commander Matthew DeGregorio. The waking stick is unique in that it has his whole military career carved into it.
After the intermission, the band played a few more pieces and then invited Dominick to join them for one song. Fortunately for the band, Dominick, being and experienced and accomplished musician, had a song in his bag already for them to play.
Dominick took a seat in front of the band and, after some minor instructions to the Bassist and Piano player, they began to play.
Dominick's performance was the last song of the evening and the highlight of the concert.
VFW Post 9592, it's Auxiliary and all the guests present wish Dominick Critelli a Happy 105th Birthday.

🎷 A Birthday Jubilee Jazz Concert 🎷

🇺🇸 Levittown – Island Trees VFW Post 9592 is proud to host a Birthday Jubilee Jazz Concert honoring Post Member and World War II Veteran Dominick Critelli as he celebrates his 105th Birthday!

Dominick Critelli served in the United States Army during World War II with the 95th Infantry Division Headquarters Battery as an aircraft and engine mechanic. During the Battle of the Bulge, he flew numerous missions behind enemy lines supporting infantry units and was awarded the Air Medal for his service. A lifelong musician, Dominick has always had a passion for jazz and the saxophone — making this celebration especially meaningful.

🎶 Enjoy an evening of Jazz & Big Band music performed by talented local musicians.

🇺🇸🍀 VFW Post 9592 Marches in the Bethpage St. Patrick’s Day Parade 🍀🇺🇸

Last week, comrades from Levittown–Island Trees VFW Post 9592 proudly marched in the Bethpage St. Patrick’s Day Parade, joining veterans, community groups, and families in celebrating Irish heritage and honoring those who have served our nation.

Our Post Color Guard carried the American Flag and POW/MIA Flag down the parade route as members of the Post marched alongside the VFW Post 9592 vehicle. It was a great day filled with community spirit, patriotism, and pride as spectators lined the streets to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day together.

Events like this remind us how strong our community is and how important it is to continue honoring the service and sacrifice of our veterans.

Thank you to everyone who came out to support the parade and cheer on the veterans!

🇺🇸 Honoring the Fallen – Operation Epic Fury 🇺🇸

It is with deep sorrow and profound respect that the members of Levittown – Island Trees VFW Post 9592 honor the six United States Army Soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice in support of Operation Epic Fury.

These brave Americans answered the call of duty and gave their lives in service to our nation and the defense of freedom.

We remember:

• Maj. Jeffrey O’Brien, 45 — Waukee/Indianola, Iowa
• Capt. Cody Khork, 35 — Winter Haven, Florida
• CW3 Robert Marzan, 54 — Sacramento, California
• Sgt. 1st Class Nicole Amor, 39 — White Bear Lake, Minnesota
• Sgt. 1st Class Noah Tietjens, 42 — Bellevue, Nebraska
• Sgt. Declan Coady, 20 — West Des Moines, Iowa

All six Soldiers served with honor as members of the 103rd Sustainment Command, standing shoulder to shoulder in service to our country.

Their courage, dedication, and sacrifice will never be forgotten. They represent the very best of America — men and women who placed duty, honor, and country above themselves.

The members of VFW Post 9592 extend our deepest condolences to the families, friends, and fellow Soldiers who mourn their loss. As veterans, we understand the cost of freedom and the weight carried by those who serve.

We will remember their names.
We will honor their sacrifice.
And we will ensure their legacy lives on.

“All gave some. Some gave all.”

🇺🇸 Today marks the anniversary of the start of Operation Desert Storm 🇺🇸

On January 17, 1991, American and Coalition forces began Operation Desert Storm, launching a decisive campaign that demonstrated unmatched courage, professionalism, and sacrifice. Today, we honor all the men and women who served during the Gulf War—those who deployed, those who supported from home, and especially those who never made it back.

At VFW Post 9592, we remember their service, their sacrifice, and their commitment to duty. May we never forget what was given in defense of freedom.
