Hockley County Soil and Water Conservation District The district stresses the use of agronomic practices to conserve both soil and water on highly erodible land.

These practices include rangeland management with brush control as well as conservation tillage, terracing, crop residue management.

The Hockley County Soil and Water Conservation District #129 continues to be very active in educating producers and the public about conservation. The district believes that educating area youth about conservation is also a top priority. Their office is located in Levelland, Texas. Serving on the board are Ronny Alexander, Doyle Butler, Glen Borland, Larry King and Cole Garner.
