The Wallace Theater in Levelland, Texas, was first opened in 1928 by Wallace Blankenship and his wife, Rose. The Blankenships operated the film room, sold tickets, and even lived above the lobby in a loft apartment space. Over the next two decades, the family owned 17 theaters in towns across the South Plains. The Wallace Theater has gone through remodeling projects, additions and many changes thr

oughout its history. It is currently owned by George Keeling, of Levelland, and is undergoing extensive renovation to reopen as a communtiy center, movie theater and live performance venue for the citizens of Hockley County and west Texas.

We’re just one week away from kicking off our 2026–2027 season with Yesterday and Today: The Interactive Beatles Experience!

But what makes it interactive? YOU do. 🎶

Throughout the show, you’ll have the chance to request the Beatles songs you want to hear. And as you’ll see in this carousel, some requests come with a little story of their own. ❤️

So, if you could request one Beatles song, what would it be? And more importantly… what memory comes with it?

Start thinking about your request card, because next Saturday, YOU pick the setlist!

🦖 Back-to-school season is here, and we know the to-do list is LONG. Between school, work, practices, homework, and everything in between, sometimes you just need a couple of hours to slow down, relax, and enjoy a good movie.

So come spend part of your Labor Day weekend at the Wallace! 🍿 Catch Jurassic Park on the big screen!

Movie nights at the Wallace are just getting started, and we plan on keeping them around for a long while. 🎬

We’re looking back at some of the fun from last year’s Community Parade, and we can’t wait to fill the streets with that same community spirit this year!

Falling for the Wallace, presented by Sundown State Bank, is happening October 3, with the Community Parade presented by Smith Auto Family kicking things off at 3 PM!

Whether you want to show your school spirit, show off your car, bring the family, promote your business, or simply get creative, we’d love to have you in the parade!

We can’t wait to put another year of Falling for the Wallace together for our community and we can’t wait to see what YOU bring! 🍂🎉

🎨 What a special First Tuesday at The Wallace!

Last night, we got creative with Kirstyn Wright during our Mixed Media workshop. We had so much fun learning about Kirstyn’s artistic style and getting to experiment with plexiglass and oil painting to create our own unique pieces.

And of course, no First Tuesday would be complete without a little something to sip on! Our Mixed Media Mule mocktail was the perfect creative companion. 🍹

We love having evenings like this where our community can come together, try something new, and make something with their own two hands. Thank you to everyone who joined us!

We’re putting together The Wallace Film Committee, a group of movie lovers who will help us decide what makes its way onto the big screen. 🍿

We’re looking for 5–7 people who are excited to share their opinions, discover great films, and help shape our movie programming.

Think you’d be a good fit?

Here’s what you need to know:
🎞️ Must be 17+
🎞️ Must be able to attend committee meetings
🎞️ Must have opinions about movies… we’re counting on them!

📣 A SPECIAL MESSAGE FROM OUR BOARD PRESIDENT!

Today, our Board President Dillon Palmer Webb has a few important things he wants you to know about the Wallace.

As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, that impact is only possible because of the people who continue to believe in and support the Wallace. Every ticket purchased, event attended, volunteer hour, donation, partnership, and visit plays a part in helping us continue to grow, serve our community, and make this historic theater a place for everyone.

Today, he’s also officially announcing our 2026–2027 season! 🎭🎶

And if you’ve been thinking about getting a Season Pass, now is the time! Season Passes are available through September 12, so you can secure yours before our season gets underway.

And speaking of September 12…

🎸 YESTERDAY AND TODAY: THE INTERACTIVE BEATLES EXPERIENCE is our 2026–2027 Season Opener, and tickets are on sale NOW!

This isn’t a Beatles tribute where you simply sit back and watch. You pick the setlist. They play your memories. Created by brothers Billy, Matthew, and Ryan McGuigan, the audience helps choose the songs that make up the show, making every performance one of a kind.

Behind every event, performance, class, movie, and community gathering at the Wallace is a group of people who believe in what this place can be.

Our Board of Directors plays an incredibly important role in the Wallace. They bring their time, experience, ideas, connections, and passion to the table as we continue building a place where arts, culture, history, and community can thrive in Levelland and across West Texas.

As a nonprofit organization, the Wallace exists because people choose to invest in it, through their time, their talents, their generosity, and their belief in what the arts can do for a community.

We’re so grateful for the people who serve on our board and for the countless ways they help guide, support, and shape the future of the Wallace. Our August 18 board meeting was just one small glimpse of the work and conversations happening behind the scenes.

To our Board of Directors: thank you for believing in the Wallace, showing up for this community, and helping us dream a little bigger. We couldn’t do what we do without you.

And to everyone who supports the Wallace in big and small ways, thank you for being part of this nonprofit and helping us keep this place going. ❤️

It’s time to start planning for the Falling for the Wallace Community Parade, presented by Smith Auto Family

We’re inviting local businesses, schools, nonprofits, organizations, families, and community groups to come be part of the parade and help us fill Downtown Levelland with creativity, hometown pride, and a whole lot of fall fun.

The parade kicks off Falling for the Wallace on October 3 at 3:00 PM, with the festival beginning immediately afterward and continuing until 8:00 PM!

And this year’s celebration is packed with even more to enjoy, including live music and local showcases, food trucks, art and craft vendors, family-friendly activities, a Student Art Contest, a Community Art Show, Levelland Breakfast Rotary’s “Levelland’s Got Talent”, and more!
