The Joy Connection is launching a FREE Wednesday Social Connection Group for teens and young adults of all abilities!

Come make friends, have fun, build social skills, and enjoy a variety of activities in a welcoming and supportive environment. From games and crafts to music, movement, conversation, team building, and special projects, each week will be an opportunity to connect and have fun together.

Hope starts with something as simple as a loaf of bread, a bag of rice, or a place where a parent knows they can find what their family needs.

These photos come directly from the village of Mityana, Uganda, where families raising children with special needs often face barriers that most of us cannot imagine. Access to food, household supplies, and basic necessities can mean traveling long distances or going without.

That is why The Joy Connection is building a Community Store and Farm.

This project is about more than groceries. It is about dignity. It is about helping families care for their children. It is about creating a sustainable source of support within the community itself.

The smiles, gratitude, and hope you see in these photos are a glimpse of what is possible when people come together to serve one another.

Every donation helps bring us closer to opening the store, growing the farm, and ensuring that families have access to the resources they need right where they live.

Looking for a simple, low-cost activity to do with your child while it’s too hot to play outside for long?

Try Water Painting! 🎨💦

What you’ll need:
• A sidewalk, driveway, or patio
• A bucket or cup of water
• Paintbrushes, sponges, foam brushes, or even hands

How to play:

1. Fill a bucket with water.
2. Dip your brush or sponge into the water.
3. Paint pictures, shapes, letters, or patterns on the ground.
4. Watch your artwork slowly disappear as it dries in the sunshine!
