Leona Valley Town Council The Leona Valley Town Council is a Not for Profit organization created to preserve the rural character of Leona Valley. Feel free to join us!

The Leona Valley Town Council meets at 7:00 p.m. on the second Monday of every month at the Leona Valley Community Building located at 8367 Elizabeth Lake Road in Leona Valley. Our Agenda for each meeting is posted on this website under the Agenda and Minutes tab. The Leona Valley Town Council was formed in 1989 at the suggestion of Los Angeles County Supervisor Mike Antonovich. It was the first T

own Council in Antelope Valley and most other local communities have now formed their own Town Councils. The purpose of each Town Council Board is to act as a representative body for the community. They are made up of democratically elected volunteers who serve as a liaison for their residents to various governmental agencies. The Leona Valley Town Council is a non-profit organization which has no source of income other than donations. Donations are always appreciated to pay for our ongoing expenses, such as insurance and this website. They can be sent to:

COLUMBIA WAY (AVENUE M) AT 10TH STREET CLOSURE
CONSTRUCTION NOTICE

Trader Joe’s will be partially closing the southeast quadrant of the intersection of Columbia Way/Avenue M and 10th St. W. Trader Joe’s from March 7, 2025, to March 21, 2025, to construct new water mainlines to provide fire service to their facilities and install new storm drains.

Only one lane will be open on northbound 10th St and one lane eastbound Columbia Way/Avenue M traffic with some turning movements are restricted, see Detour Plan attached. Due to lane restrictions, there will be heavy traffic delays through the intersection. Please allow extra time or preferably avoid the area during the construction. We apologize for any inconvenience.

If you have any questions, please contact my Public Works Department at 661-267-5272. We greatly appreciate your patience and understanding.

The California Department of Insurance home insurance cancellation moratorium applies to Acton, Agua Dulce, Green Valley, Leona Valley, Valyermo and central and western Palmdale. Most of those are included because of the Lidia Fire last week in Soledad Canyon. I have converted the Department of Insurance bulletin into JPGs for you to view. The areas covered by the moratorium are identified by ZIP codes. The ZIP code list includes 91390, 93510, 93550, 93551 and 93563.

Town Council Challenges

Our Town Council has always had difficulties finding residents willing to run for the Board. Somehow we have managed to find 5 people every year until recently.

Notices and forms to run have been in the Cherry Chapters for several months, as well as on FB, our website, and at Rancher's Market.

The Town Council currently has substantial debt as a result of our lawsuit against the Ritter Ranch developers and the City of Palmdale. Our residents have gone above and beyond in donating and we don't expect them to do more. A newly elected Board will have to find a way to deal with that debt.

If anyone is interested in running for the Leona Valley Town Council, please complete this form and return it to the LVTC box by the Post Office at Rancher's. The LVTC election will be held on Sunday, November 3 at the same time as the general election at the Leona Valley Community Building from noon to 6pm.
