Edward J Whalen Scholarship Memorial Scholarship page in honor of the life of Edward J Whalen “EJ” On February 23rd, 2021, Edward Whalen "EJ" ended his life tragically.

Even though he is no longer with us, his kind spirit will forever live on in the lives of those that had the pleasure of knowing him. EJ always participated in Football. He played 2 years for Pop Warner in Gardner, 4 years for AYF Chair city Gardner & his last 2 years he played for Leominster. In his memory, his family is offering students scholarships to continue to better themselves. This commun

ity will also be a source of support for those in need of mental health services. His memory will live on with a connection for those to seek help when they need it the most.

We are pleased to announce Jaidis Delgado of Leominster and Evans Cesaire Jr. of Gardner have been selected to receive 2025 Scholarship on behalf of the Edward J Whalen scholarship. It takes courage for someone to talk about their su***de attempt and allows others to speak about getting help. So proud of this young man coming forward it might help others who might also be struggling with it.

Red Sox outfielder Jarren Duran said his on-field struggles during the 2021 and 2022 seasons fueled his mental health struggles to the point that he attempted su***de.

We have some exciting news!!! The first fundraiser of the year for the Edward J Whalen Scholarship memorial fund will be at Launch Entertainment in Leominster on Saturday April 5th! 😁

They will be donating 20% of all admissions that day! So stop in anytime between 10am - 9pm on 4/5 and bring this flyer or save this picture of it or just mention this when you purchase your admission tickets. That’s it and It won’t cost you anything extra! 👏

Go bowling 🎳, hit the trampolines, do some Virtual Reality and more. You will have fun while supporting a great cause in memory of someone so special. ❤️
