DID YOU KNOW THURSDAY?
Our weekly "Did you know Thursday" post is also an announcement!
Did you know, that the Town of Leo-Cedarville owns 17 acres along Amstutz Rd that includes a small wetland area?
At the April 15, 2025 Town Council meeting it was voted on to create a Nature Trail throughout that 17 acres. Work has begun on the trail, with mowing of the trail paths. There are three ways into the Nature Trail, all of which will have signage and are marked on the map as stars. The signage will be placed soon, as well as picnic tables in areas of shade along the wetland path marked on the map as smiley faces. This is a continuous work in progress as there are future plans for possible wild flowers, tree canopy and more.
To access the trail you will have to walk there, as currently there are no plans for on site parking, however, the Leo Jr/Sr High School and Leo Elementary Schools are not that far away if you wish to park there.
The red X marked on the map is not an entrance to the trail at this time and please do not park cars there to access the trail.
This is a nature trail and whatever you take in must come out. Please be sure to clean up after your pets, be courteous to other walkers/hikers/runners and yes even bicycles are welcome. No unauthorized motorized vehicles allowed on the trail at any time.
Enter at your own risk.
Any local groups interested in building bat boxes, bird houses or other nature related items, please reach out to the Town Hall. We are wanting to add more to our Nature Trail.
We hope everyone enjoys this new Nature Trail in our small community and will help us grow it even more.
