Meet BNRC's Trail Crew 🛠️ 👋

From May through October, BNRC's seasonal trail crew spends long days maintaining 60+ miles of trail and caring for over 27,000 acres of conserved land. They clear blowdowns, mow fields, reroute paths, and build bridges and bog walks—the essential work that makes enjoying the outdoors in the Berkshires possible. It’s hot, muddy, buggy, and physically demanding. Here's the team behind all that hard work!

Make sure you stop and say, "hi" if you see them out on the trails this season!

BNRC's $100,000 matching gift campaign continues, and there are many ways to help unlock these funds!

In case you missed it, a generous BNRC board member has pledged to match $100,000 in gifts dollar for dollar so that your support this season goes twice as far. The bobcats, trout, farmers, trees, climate, kids, codgers, dogs, and so many others will be better for it. They’ll be grateful. They won’t know who to thank. But that’s okay. You’ll know. And in July, the fireflies will offer a midsummer dance and light show, in appreciation for the part of yourself that you have generously given to these hills.

So how can you help?

🌿 Contribute from your Donor Advised Fund. BNRC gratefully receives many DAF grant disbursements. Contributions made this way through June 18 will increase BNRC's chances of receiving an additional match via HalfMyDAF.

🌿 Give stock. This is a great way to get the most value from your appreciated stock for charitable purposes. Get started at bnrc.org/givestocks.

🌿 Give directly from your IRA RMD. If you are 73 or older, you can make a tax-free donation directly from your IRA. Inquire with your plan administrator or financial advisor.

🌿 Include BNRC in your will. A bequest could be the most important charitable gift you ever make. Including BNRC in your will or legacy plans is an easy way to support the Berkshires forever, without spending anything today.

🌿 Make a one-time gift to the matching gift campaign . . . or enroll in monthly giving for as low as $5 a month to make a difference all year long! Visit bnrc.org/donate now!

Every spring, we ask for your support to keep the Berkshires green, wild, and welcoming. This year, your generosity goes twice as far.

A generous BNRC board member has pledged to match $100,000 in gifts dollar-for-dollar!

Our founder, George Wislocki, always said: “Whether it’s three acres or 300, if it lifts your heart, it’s worth everything you can do to preserve it.”

Your matched gift today directly funds:

🐻 Wildlife Corridors: Helping wildlife like songbirds, salamanders, and moose move safely across the landscape.

🥾 Trail Expansion: Maintaining the paths you walk daily and building new ones—like the upcoming 5-mile High Road connection in Great Barrington this Fall!

🌲 Urgent Conservation: Protecting crucial land before it's lost forever.

The impact is real: In 2025 alone, BNRC protected nearly 1,170 acres forever (that’s over 880 football fields!).

Let’s keep going. For the birds, for your neighbors, and for the next generation.

Important office business was conducted in May.

The question: If you could be any animal, what would you be?

The answers? The staff would be significantly harder to manage if these wishes came true.
