Congratulations to our internship partner!

We are excited that Smith County Memorial Hospital has received two national honors, both based on patient experience data. These achievements reflect the hard work and dedication of our entire team.

These honors show what we have always believed: great health care is about more than just medicine. It means creating a place where patients feel cared for, respected, safe, and valued from the moment they arrive.

A clean and welcoming hospital is only possible because of our dedicated team. Every day, people from Environmental Services, Nursing, Patient Access, Providers, Maintenance, Dietary, and all departments work hard behind the scenes to make this happen.

Welcome Elise!

Elsie is a social work student at Fort Hays State University and has been involved with Jana’s Campaign for more than five years through our Youth Advisory Council. She has already made a meaningful impact through peer-facilitation of our Bystander Intervention Training at Hays High School.

Thanks to the support of Nex-Generation Round Up for Youth, we’re thrilled to offer this internship opportunity and have Elsie on our team this summer!

This week, the Nex-Generation team spent our Staff Day learning, collaborating, and planning for the future!

We started the day by visiting one of our incredible Intern Businesses, the Ellis County Historical Society in Hays, KS. It was a great opportunity to connect with a community partner and learn more about the impact they make in our area.

In the afternoon, our team came together to focus on building the strategic plan for our organization. We spent time discussing goals, ideas, and ways we can continue growing our programs and serving students across our communities.

We’re excited for what’s ahead and grateful for opportunities like these that allow our team to learn, connect, and plan for the future together!
