๐Ÿšจ Know the Signs of an Imposter Scam ๐Ÿšจ

Scammers are getting more sophisticated, especially when targeting older adults and vulnerable individuals.

Watch for these warning signs:
โ˜Ž๏ธ They pretend to be someone you know or trust.
โš ๏ธ They claim there's an urgent problem.
โฐ They pressure you to act immediately.

Remember: Legitimate organizations will not rush you into making financial decisions.

Take a moment. Verify the information. Talk to a trusted family member or friend before sending money or sharing personal information.

Community health includes safety, financial stability, and protecting older adults from exploitation. Help us spread the word by sharing this post.

๐Ÿ“ข NEVER EVER.

The Elder Justice Coordinating Council's "Never EVER" campaign reminds us of an important truth:

Never EVER trust unexpected requests for money, financial information, gift cards, cryptocurrency, or personal information from someone claiming to be a government official.

Scammers count on fear, confusion, and urgency.

Take a pause. Verify the source. Talk to someone you trust. Together, we can protect older adults and prevent financial exploitation in our communities.

Community health includes safety, financial stability, and protecting older adults from exploitation. Help us spread the word by sharing this post.

๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿ’œ Investing in Su***de Prevention Education ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ“š

Recently, Align9's Director of Strategic Partnerships, Derrick Phillips, attended a QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) Train-the-Trainer session hosted by TSPN ahead of its Advisory Council Spring Retreat in Nashville.

The training, led by Mary Anne Christian, equipped participants to become certified QPR trainers, allowing them to teach and certify others as QPR Gatekeepers. QPR is an evidence-based su***de prevention program that helps individuals recognize warning signs, offer hope, and connect those in crisis with appropriate support.

Through this training, Derrick is expanding Align9's capacity to bring lifesaving su***de prevention education to communities across East Tennessee.

Together, we can build stronger, more informed communities and help prevent su***de through awareness, education, and action.

May 31st is the World Health Organization's World No To***co Day...

To***co and ni****ne companies deliberately design their products to hook you.

Sugars, flavors, and cooling agents all mask the harshness of ni****ne so you inhale more, and get addicted faster.

But the grip of addiction can be broken. And the benefits are felt almost immediately:

โฑ๏ธ In 20 minutes, your heart rate drops

๐Ÿซ 2โ€“12 weeks, your lung function improves

โค๏ธ 1 year, your risk of heart disease is cut in half

What's holding you back from calling it quits?

Take the bold step, break the addiction.

As Mental Health Awareness Month comes to a close, remember this:

You do not have to have everything figured out to be making progress.

Every small step toward healing, connection, rest, and support matters.

Letโ€™s continue building a community where people feel safe asking for help and where mental health conversations continue all year long.

๐Ÿ’š You matter.
๐Ÿ’š Your story matters.
๐Ÿ’š Your mental health matters.

๐ŸŽ“ Join us in congratulating two incredible AmeriCorps VISTA team members on their recent graduations! ๐ŸŽ‰

Brooke Russell, Align9โ€™s AmeriCorps VISTA Prevention and Recovery Outreach Developer, graduated from Tennessee Wesleyan University with a Bachelorโ€™s Degree in Social Work. Brookeโ€™s passion for helping others and strengthening communities continues to make a meaningful impact through her work with prevention and recovery outreach.

We also want to celebrate Hanna Sampietro, Align9โ€™s Social Media Developer, who graduated from the University of Tennessee Knoxville with a Bachelorโ€™s Degree in Journalism and Electronic Media. Hannaโ€™s creativity and dedication have helped expand Align9โ€™s voice and community engagement across our platforms.

We are incredibly proud of both Brooke and Hanna for this amazing accomplishment and grateful for the work they continue to do through their VISTA service. Congratulations on this exciting new chapter! ๐Ÿ’™โœจ

We are proud to share that Brooke Russell, Jennifer Craig, and Charlene Hipsher recently attended the Pathways to Recovery Conference.

The conference brought together professionals, advocates, and community leaders from across the state to discuss best practices in prevention, treatment, and recovery support. By participating in this event, our team gained valuable knowledge and new ideas to help strengthen the services and support we provide to individuals and families in our community.

We are grateful for opportunities like this that allow our staff to continue learning, growing, and bringing innovative approaches back to Loudon County.

Sitting at a desk all day can leave us feeling stressed, stiff, and mentally drained. These simple desk yoga moves are an easy way to pause, breathe, stretch, and reset your mind and body.
