Hello friends! Today we're going to start a new weekly post called "Cat of the Week"! We're going to choose some kitties to highlight each week for everyone to see. Also, we want to invite you to come to our store on Saturdays from 12-3pm, as always!

Today's featured kitties are Pierre & Gilligan! This energetic duo comes in black and white. They're a fan favorite! All who visit them at Little Mews Rescue fall madly in love. Our volunteers love spending time with them. They even get carried around like babies!

These are large cats and their personalities are even larger. They love to explore everything! You'll find them battling for top spot on the cat towers. Best to have multiple so they can be co-ruling kings!

Pierre and Gilligan have shown us that they are bonded by crying when they're missing the other. They've been through a lot together in their short lives. They wrestle and zoom at the speed of light. Since they've already grown up, you'll know exactly what you're getting. Two big lover boys!

Some considerations:
- They require large litter boxes due to their size! To ensure their comfort and behavioral health, make sure to select the appropriate sized box and number of boxes ( # of cats + 1). Remember, location is important too.
- Pierre can get matted if his coat is ignored! Be sure that you enjoy a grooming routine before applying.

General adoption considerations:
Please allow a grace period of ideally several months for your new pet to settle in. Time and patience leads to years of bonding and memories. Many pets adapt much quicker; they all have their own journeys.

P.S. from now until 10/19, we will apply an additional 25% off of their adoption fee!

P.P.S. these cat profiles are heavily inspired by Catster dot com - where all cats had their own "social media"! Made with love and nostalgia. We hope you like them.

🐾 🐱 IT’S $5.00 FRIDAY! 🐱 🐾

Every week, we show up for the cats who need us. The hungry ones, the sick ones, the tiny babies who need extra care, and the ones still waiting for someone to choose them. ❤️

But lately, donations have been down, and we're feeling it. 💔 The need doesn't slow down just because the donations do. Food needs to be purchased, litter boxes need to be filled, and vet bills still need to be paid.

So today, we're asking for a little help from our community

Every dollar, every share, and every act of kindness means more than you know. Thank you for being part of their story. ❤️

**We will also have our booth down at Appleumpkin Saturday-Sunday, feel free to stop on by, we will be selling pet related goods, crafts and collecting donations for the cats in our care**

🐾 ❤️‍🩹 Sweet Smokie needs our help!

Smokie is an FIV+ beauty who has been with us for a year now! Estimated to be around 6 years old and found outdoors, we're not sure how long she's had FIV, but it already had time to take a toll on her teeth. At her spay last year, she was examined and her dental disease was categorized as "severe"!

She's had dental surgery once already (and a polyp removal!) but her pain has returned. Smokie is experiencing pain while eating her favorite wet food snacks now, so she's gone back for another evaluation. She loves making new friends at the vet!

Her mouth was too painful for a full examination, so we've received an estimate for a full extraction just in case it needs to go that far. It will be up to the doctor to decide which route is best once Smokie is sedated and relaxed. Whether it's a full or partial extraction, we really want to help Smokie; any amount towards her estimate will help us afford her surgery. :-)

Smokie is a wonderful girl and her attitude shows that this is only a minor setback. She still loves to greet volunteers with a big hug each day. She even gets inspired to chase a toy once in a while! We know that kitties with no teeth can still live a fulfilling and happy life. She's got a great personality even with all the pain - imagine what she's like pain-free!

Thank you to our very special community for caring for Little Mews kitties! We hope to give back to our community in many forms including happy & healthy feline companions, resources to help those in need, behavior support, fun events, a jam-packed store with super low prices and more.
