Our Girl Scouts have been working hard all weekend!

You'll see Girl Scouts out there from Kindergarten all the way up to Seniors in high school and they are all working hard to achieve their goals this season.

Girl Scouts across the country celebrate founder Juliette Gordon Low's birthday every year on October 31. This year, we teamed up with Hanford Service Unit 62 and put together a gift basket for the first baby girl born on October 31 at Adventist Health Hanford. Together, we presented the gift basket to hospital representatives who passed on our gift to one very lucky little girl. We hope to welcome her to Girl Scouts in about 5 years!

3 years ago, these two completed their Bronze Award project which was a Little Free Library for the families in Lemoore, located at First United Methodist Church of Lemoore!

They completed their required Journey, pieced together an idea that would benefit their community, created a budget, presented their idea to their Troop, found a location, and executed their Bronze Award!

Now three years later, these two just started their first year of high school, a new Girl Scout level, and they have completed Gold Award training so that they are ready to take on that next step in Girl Scouts' Highest Awards. Can't wait to see what these two amazing Girl Scouts will accomplish!

Girl Scout Juniors Kaylana & Melanie of Troop 6001 in Lemoore have been working hard on their Bronze Award project!

They hosted a table at Neutra Elementary School’s Book Fair Family Night where they educated the community on the importance of wearing a helmet as well as how one should fit properly. They also distributed 45 helmets at no cost to youth in the NAS Lemoore community by collecting donations from family and friends and using proceeds from their Fall Product Sales and Cookie Season.

Way to go, Kaylana and Melanie, we are so proud of you!

Girl Scouts’ highest awards, the Gold, Silver and Bronze Awards, are the highest honors a Girl Scout can earn. Over the next few days we will be highlighting local Girl Scouts that are working towards these awards as well as Girl Scouts that have earned them in the past. Gold, Silver, & Bronze are awarded to Girl Scouts for displaying leadership while engaging in projects that benefit their communities. We can't wait to show off what our local Girl Scouts have been working on!
