Beck's is proud to announce that this year's event will raise funds for organizations that work to overcome childhood hunger and food insecurity, or that operate food pantries and soup kitchens for those in need. Grayson County Alliance was chosen for state of Kentucky. You can participate virtually too! Time is running out the race is Saturday, June 6, 2026. Check out this link for more information:

Beck's 5K Run/Walk is on Saturday June 6, 2026. It includes the following events: 5K Run, 5K Walk, Virtual 5K Run/Walk, Kids Fun Run, and Virtual Kids Fun Run.

We are incredibly grateful to the employees of Owensboro Health Twin Lakes Medical Center for their generosity and community spirit during their “Owensboro Health GIVES – Making a Meaningful Impact on Our Communities” campaign.

Because of your compassion and teamwork, an amazing $5,850 was raised to support the mission of GCA, along with 259 pounds of food collected during the Spring Food Drive! 🥫❤️

Great news for Kentucky families -- Summer 2026 SEBT is Here! The Summer Electronic Benefits Transfer (SEBT) program is here to help eligible students enjoy nutritious food this summer. Each eligible student will receive a one-time benefit of $120 to purchase healthy food while school’s out.

Automatic Approval: If your child aged 6-17, as of August 1, 2025, has received Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Kentucky Transitional Assistance Program (KTAP), or Kinship Care benefits for at least one month since July 1, 2025, they’re automatically approved -- no application is needed! The benefit will be directly deposited onto your household’s Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) card and benefits can be expected no later than today, Tuesday, May 19, 2026.

How to Apply: If your student is not considered automatically eligible, you can apply now to see if they qualify for Summer EBT benefits.

Closing Date: Submit your application by Aug. 15, 2026, at KYSEBT.ky.gov or https://www.chfs.ky.gov/agencies/dcbs/dfs/pages/sebt.aspx

New opportunities to utilize the Transfer Station!

Great news, Leitchfield. We are making it even easier for you to keep your property looking its best. To help accommodate your busy schedules, the City of Leitchfield Transfer Station is extending its hours this season.

From now through September, we will stay open an extra hour on our busiest days:

Tuesdays & Thursdays: Open from 7:30 AM until 4 PM

Normal Hours: Monday, Wednesday, Friday (Closes at 3:00 PM)

Disposal Details
- Large/Specialty Items: There is a disposal fee for items like construction debris, tires, and appliances.
- General Household Trash: Always FREE for city residents.

This is the perfect opportunity to finish those mid-week projects or finally clear out the garage. Just load up the truck and bring it down to see us at 510 S. English St.
